Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.

El Papachango 

Argentinian Dj sensation, El Papachango has been at the forefront of the West Coast Bass music scene since co-founding the legendary performance and avant-garde production crew, El Circo in 2002. He brought with him a love of music from South America that he blends with west coast underground beats to create a groove that is unique and infectious wherever he goes. His sound is characterized by sexy, soulful banging Global Bass fusion, with a Latin sazon that is quintessential to his name. He has headlined the biggest Festival stages across US and Canada, such as Lightning In  Bottle, Shambhala, Bass Coast, Symbiosis, and Burning Man, to name a few. The past year his performances have proven to be exceptionally electrifying since touring as a duo with live vocalist Dakini Star.

Climbing PoeTree harnesses creativity as the antidote to destruction through their award-winning poetry, boundary-breaking music, and multimedia hip hop. Co-creators Alixa Garcia and Naima Penniman have independently organized more than 30 national and international tours, taking their work from South Africa to Cuba, the UK to Mexico, and throughout the U.S. including 11,000 miles toured on a bus converted to run on recycled vegetable oil.

Climbing PoeTree has stirred crowds at diverse venues from the Brooklyn Academy of Music to the United Nations, Harvard University to Rikers Island Prison. They have been featured alongside powerhouses such as Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, Little Dragon, Talib Kweli, Goapele, Rising Appalachia, T.I., Dead Prez, and Angela Davis, who writes:
