1. Tell us about your Kool FM show 
It’s going really well! I’m enjoying myself and it feels like I’m part of a type of musical family which is really heartwarming because I’m still new to the scene. Everyone that assists us DJs is so lovely, and it’s really reassuring when people phone in as well, it feels less lonely which is quite common when playing in a room on your own. I couldn’t ask for a better experience on radio!

2. Tell us about exciting gigs and guest mixes you have coming up 
I’ve not got any guest mixes after this as of yet but I am booked to play with the Unorthodox family, which will be really exciting since I’ve never played with them before, that will be really fun and it’ll be nice to see some friendly faces down there too! I’m also playing at my second festival this year which is insane, I’m headed off to Italy to play at *Sun & Bass with the Rupture crew! My heart dropped when I got the email, that will be my 3rd holiday and set abroad this year which is still so surreal to me. 

3. If you became invisible for the day, what would you do? 
Ooooh tough question, haha. I’d probably travel abroad to a land of countries, specifically where lychees are still in season (they’re my favourite fruit) and take them back home or probably dine and dash in a restaurant I’ve always wanted to go to so I can eat good food without the price tag!

Originally from Cowra and now based in Mulubinba (Newcastle AU), Dread Maiden has long been a passionate supporter of the Australian drum and bass community. She co-hosted the Cabin Fever Sessions on Orbital Radio and serves as a resident DJ for Eora's (Sydney AU) Cabin Fever Crew. Additionally, she is the driving force behind Newy Bass Crew.

Dread Maiden has performed at renowned parties in the Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne scenes and shared the stage with artists like Jam Thieves, Shapeless, Serial Killaz, Dillinja, Ben Soundscape & Collette Warren, KOAN Sound and Paige Julia.
