Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Funkin Matt returns to FG and goes extra deep with a new anthem for the searchers out there. "America" is a moody chunk of popped bubble-wrap synth riffs and heavy-duty sub bass, with an emotional vocal calling out to all our brothers and sisters of the night. Feel it...

After Bastinov ´s  solid release, Etruria continues  his aim to promote new italian talents . Now it’s time for  Tuscany ´s duo Reform , who you could already find on our last Bud Sampler .
This 25th release  features  4 tracks, incredibly different from each other, like the Ep title says , they create a true path through interesting electronic sounds.
 
First track, “The Clear Path”,  a killer dancefloor tune, which combines great, grooved drums underlaying a strong bassline topped by two powerful and melodic synths . The first one is riffing the main melody and the other one, brings a  magic touch to the ensemble .
following is Marco Effe’s remix . The Berlin based producer gives its own special touch , with incredible reverbered drums, an arpeggiated synth based on the original, but completely reworked. A real trip, that first takes the audience thru a mental abstraction , then rudely back to the dancefloor with a punchy  techno kick / bass marriage .
We continue our journey thru sound with the third track : a second remix , this time from German producer Raphael Dincsoy . Energy , Dancefloor Hypnotic , monophonic sounds are some of the adjective to characterize this third track .
 “The Agreement” is closing the release : a cut up game of voices,  played alternately towards  a huge “moog style” synth which appears after the first drop and evolves till the track ends .
 
This is Reform, and this is how they want to express their sonic and  music path, soaked into analog machines and vinyl sound , explosive and energetic .

Christian Smith has once again knocked it out the park with a killer second remix package for his “Input/Output” album released back in 2016. This 4 track EP includes remixes from SHADED, Pig&Dan, Drunken Kong and techno pioneer and true legend of the industry - Laurent Garnier, no surprise after his support for the LP last year.

Since meeting in the 90’s in New York, Laurent has always been a big supporter of Tronic. Back in 2003 John Selway and Christian made a bootleg of his classic “Crispy Bacon” mashed up with “Din Da Da” by George Kranz. They named it “Krispy Kranz”. It took Laurent over a year to find out who did the track, and subsequently this lead to Christian remixing another 3 tracks for him, so now Laurent is returning the favor. He delivers a hypnotically deep take on “Air Castle” a beautiful melting pot of pads and synths to create a brooding atmosphere around the core essence of the original. 

Another duo who are smashing the charts with every release are fellow Mallorca residents and long-time friends of Christian’s - Pig&Dan. The slamming kick laced up with that crisp percussion and those creeping dark synths come at you in full force for their take on “Subzero”.

SHADED is known for his vibrant live performances. He brings a seriously spacey and hypnotic edge to the package, with his take on “Destination Unknown” using searing clap rhythms, an infectiously deep synth and a warped vocal.

Tronic welcomed Drunken Kong in 2015 with their first release on the label. Christian met them in Tokyo, where they are residents as the legendary Womb. A thumping low end drives “Input/Output” at an alarmingly groovy speed, whilst the twisted vocals stand out and lead the way.

Last Vision are Andrea Sgamma and Gabriele Marzella from Barletta (Italy). They are part of the new wave of italian artists producing awesome beats. This is an EP full of colours and percussions, where the rhythm and the groove are essential part of the music. She is Sense is accompanied by a set of voices that provides a very fresh tech-house. Donkey Work is a classy production with some melodic elements that will warm up every dancefloor where it is played. Stefano Kosa provides a powerful remix to close the italian music team.

'Weapons' sees a cascading low end masterfully evolve into a modulated bass pattern over the course of the record, the mounting tension provided by rolling snares and disguised vocal cuts. Gesaffelstein's 'Variations' EP set an all-time record for feedback at Turbo. For a new artist to attract that kind of attention from such a broad cross-section of DJs is extremely special and a clear sign that he's tapped in to something very, very big. To the younger generation of clubbers and DJs for whom the funtastic era of 2001-2003 revivalism was a missed experience, Gesaffelstein represents a double-breasted jacket of nostalgia for everything from the power of Industrial and 80s New Wave to the Gigolo-glam of early Kittin & the Hacker, Steril, Vitalic, Fixmer, and yes, Tiga.
 
We have no hesitation in declaring that he has single-handedly updated an entire genre, sharpened the edges, and notably traded in the camp and pastiche that made Electroclash a dirty word for a refined and stylish simplicity. The breakdowns are massive and very French, but never out of order. These are futuristic party bombs which skillfully draw from our favourite dance music of the last 30 years... and add more cowbell!
