Portuguese techno maker @lewisfautzi is here again with his very own recipe about how the music of the future should sound like for his new Intense Mechanism EP. Listen to the premiere of the titular track from the new EP now.

"Intense Mechanism" is the first song on the B-side of the album, which instantly puts listeners in a galactic mood with one bar arpeggiated sounds, modulated wisely running over a blurred and distorted drum line.

His style has evolved to harsher territories lately, with distortion appearing as one of the main components in this compilation, shining through in the other three tracks as well. The Intense Mechanism EP will be available in both digital and vinyl formats.

Belgian label Arkham Audio announce their Arkham Friends various artist compilation that comes in two parts and features a huge host of names such as Dustin Zahn, Roman Poncet, Insolate, Luis Flores, Zadig, JoeFarr, Florian Meindl, Madben, and many more.

Los Angeles techno legend Drumcell makes a revered appearance to the powerful package after being a part of quality labels including Rødhåd’s Dystopian, Chris Liebing’s CLR and his own, now dormant, DROID Recordings.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the original track titled “Dialogue” that has a thundering energy wrapped into its structure. Focusing on a demented lead hook, its raw, jackin’ sound comes complete with some sinister sounding vocals and analogue intensity.

SLLAV describes himself as a music enthusiast with an affiliation towards the more dynamic side of techno. Heavily influenced by electronic sound coming from the UK, his approach is a combination of galloping bottom-end and thundering percussion backed up by necessary melodic moments.  A key element is progression and variety in repetition, with a complete focus on the dance floor. He began his DJ journey with @kodenbhx, a Birmingham-based crew, before the global pandemic was a regular face at the infamous @jadedlondon after-hours and since the summer of 2021 he is a resident for @staminaeventsofficial.  Last year saw his debut on @khazad_records, while 2021 began with a track on @laburnum.records, first uploads on his personal Bandcamp page and a plan to self-release every two months.

Hailing from the Yorkshire Dales just outside of Leeds, Balrog is the founder of UK record label Khazad Records. As an artist his style could be categorised as industrial groove, focusing on heavy groove-ridden drums, driving bass lines, and obscure distorted vocals. 

Balrog has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with multiple releases on exciting techno labels including Soma, Instruments Of Discipline, Moments In Time, Green Fetish and The Meaning Of Rave. His music has received support from some of the biggest in the scene including Amelie Lens, Dax J, Rebekah, Perc, Paula Temple, Manni Dee, and many more.

This mix is part of Balrog’s vinyl only mix series “When Techno Had Groove”, focussing on working through his collection of records from the late 90s and early 2000’s, a taste of what to expect on March 12.
