Lacking Creativity

A few weeks back, we hooked up with our good friends the rEJEKTS to offer you guys a free Mykel Haze remix from their latest EP . Well, the offer may have expired, but far be it from those Mancunian mischief makers to leave you without anything to listen to; which is why co-founder Iain Taylor - sorry, make that iAIN TAYLOR - hopped on the decks and turned out an exclusive mix. Oh, you lucky things!

A stalwart of the Manchester scene since the early '90s, and still only 36-years-old, we reckon Iain must have been DJing when he was wearing nappies (although we've not confirmed he still hasn't stopped). A regular face at the Haçienda, Iain went on to hold the longest ever residency at Sankeys, and tour the world, hitting up every house haven along the way.

In 2005, he met up with keyboardist and "nocturnal animal" Mark Ashworth; the two shared an ethos that held creativity and art up on high, whilst denouncing negativity and banality, and so a couple of years later, rEJEKTS was born. Unfortunately, life had other plans for the pair, and they were forced to put the project on hold; however, this year has marked the rEJEKTS grand return, dropping three EPs on their rEJEKT Music imprint, ahead of a double compilation album set to drop in September.

Showing off his well-honed skills and eclectic knowledge, Iain offers up a whopping 1 hour 50 mins of groove-filled house, including work from Riki Inocente, No Artificial Colours, Jamie Trench and Tim Green. The musical trio of Florian Schirmacher, Henrik Raabe and Jakob Seidensticker aka Wareika have carved out quite the career over the past eight years, racking up releases for Zip’s Perlon imprint, Circus Company, Tartelet and Connaisseur Recordings. Here we see the group push on with their fourth album project and the second for Visionquest following ‘Wternal’ in 2013, once again encompassing their unique brand of electronica across the release.

Ahead of the full L.P., Visionquest release the ‘Keen To Rebel’ single, opening with the original collaboration by Wareika and Swiss producer Miajica, co-founder of the fleeting wax imprint alongside Mehmet Aslan. We have the Visionquest co-founder Ryan Crosson remix on our Debut Transmission this morning.

After a few weeks off over the christmas & New year period the series returns with a vengeance with a cracking 2 hour mix from DJ Simion, he serves up set of selections designed primarily to make you feel, well human again.   He returns to his own imprint Hedonism with new single The Groove after featuring on Suara Music amongst others recently.

Right Knider, now hopelessly stranded in an un-conventionality ruled by ancient egyptian canon, enters the virtual holographic tomb of Nefermaat XI and starts to decode a skein of intertwining hieroglyphics that surround him, by means of what can only be described as "automatic sonic sub-speculation". 
After deciphering obscure oracles of nuclear doom and elusive manuals for teleportation, beamed back by anonymous future travellers, he finally emerges back to the known reality with four chapters of a diary ported into the musical format and presented to you henceforth under mystical disclosure.
