Patrick/DjArtw2001 (@djartw2007) and I present track 5 in our current collaborative album "Galaxy Universe" (2024).

The track was created in September 2023 (initial composition, recording, arrangement and mix by Patrick/DjArtw2001 in MAGIX), 27 February 2024 (subsequent instruments, recording, arrangement and mix by Alex M in Logic Pro using Akai midi input), 10 and 28 April (further additions, arrangements and mixes by Alex M in Logic Pro) and 29 April 2024 (final additions, arrangements and mix by Patrick/DjArtw2001 in MAGIX) and posted here on SoundCloud on 10 May 2024 (by Alex M). We have used vocal samples from Patrick’s MAGIX collection (HipHop Chilhop Part 2).

The artwork cover for the track uses (almost entirely) an oil painting by Patrick/DjArtw2001 of 7 January 2024 that was annotated in a photo using Mac OS Preview by Alex M on 10 April 2024 - in coordination and agreement with Patrick/DjArtw2001.

This album is shaped by the instruments that have meant the most to me. The piano was the first one. My grandmother taught me by ear in the living room, guiding me to listen for the notes instead of reading them. That memory still sits underneath everything I make.

I have always been drawn to the violin because it feels almost vocal, able to carry emotion the way a voice does. My wife has the same bond with the cello and the warmth it brings, so that sound found its place in our home too. Bringing all three together felt natural.

The music blends these roots into a Modern Instrumental style that is serene, expressive, and personal. The violin leads with lyrical motion. The cello adds depth and softness. The piano and Rhodes set the foundation. The sound moves through easy listening, neo classical color, soft R and B influence, and gentle cinematic moments.

These pieces were shaped with the help of current creative prompt based tools, guided carefully to preserve the same warmth and emotion these instruments have always held for us all.

Fellow musicians: I'm so impressed with your creativity and imagination, and something I look for in all music - momentum (we know it when we hear it!); let's keep encouraging each other ... I've played guitar since I was ten; took some time off to study literature (Spanish) and travel and work (Europe, Latin America, Japan). I started studying classical guitar in Seattle with Steven Novacek and continued with other teachers and on my own for about ten years. I love just about all music, especially Brazilian, especially guitar, but music of all instruments and from all ages. I've written two novels. Presently I help run Emma's BBQ in Seattle with my wife Tess Thomas; she is a great singer and we like to go out and jam with other Seattle musicians. I love SoundCloud ... so much talent all over!
