[Premiere] Aiokai - The Void (out on BLDSMX)

New premiere out today by MATRACA label head Lukrø. His ragga jungle footwork infused take on Honeydrip's "Brand New Flava" will bun up any dance floor. 
 Lukrø is a Mexico city based, Peruvian multi-genre producer whose been globally pushing footwork infused with sound systemculture and latin american sounds for quite some time now. We love to see his appearance on Honeydrip’s ANTI-EGO remix record, as the original release has been making waves across the underground. Released over the summer of 2021, it is a swirling 4 track exploration of outlier techno, dancehall and UK bass filtered through the lens of her Caribbean roots, electroacoustic background, and immaculate taste for hyper-kinetic grooves. 
Anti-Ego is heavily influenced by the symbiosis of black culture and electronic music. It is an extension of the dub and sound system culture, as it honours the exploration and boldness found in the genre and every sub-genre that has come of it. The remix release also boasts big remixes by key Montreal producers like Sim, and Ouri.

8205 Recordings is back in 2022 with two records by an absolute legend of the scene - Bizzy B! One of the best, most distinctive and fiercely independent producers of the jungle/dnb era, Bizzy’s production chops are still the stuff of legend. The tracks on these EPs aim to showcase two different but equally important sides of Bizzy’s music: one more dark and experimental, the other upfront, slamming and jungle-oriented. 

Complementing the rawer vibes on “Close Your Eyes” EP,  “Big People EP” [8205-016] shows Bizzy’s slightly later (94-95) jungle mastery to a fine degree. On the A side, “Big People'' is an absolute monster of a track, with earth shattering drums and bass breaking through your speakers, not letting up until the last few moments.  On the flip, “Fool Bwoy (Amen Mix)”  is classic Bizzy ragga jungle through and through: heavy amens, big bass and catchy vocals. Finally, “Fling Down the Bass” keeps the ragga vibe going, but dials the intensity back a bit, with slick cold sweat break work and a more stripped down feel. 

Both "Big People EP" and "Close Your Eyes EP" will be for sale June 17th, 2pm UK time on https://8205.bandcamp.com, available as either coloured vinyl or more limited black vinyl, with full black and white picture sleeves. The vinyl will be available exclusively from the 8205 bandcamp, with digitals available separately on Bizzy’s own site Junglistdownload.

Like the Jonathan and Jennifer Hart of Footwork, this couple, united in life as well as behind the machines, prefers BPMs and dancefloors to Dollars and the life of a billionaire and has been letting the whole 160 scene know it for a few EPs now, both solo and in duo.
It is therefore a great satisfaction for us to have them among us, if only for the time of four tracks 160 with etheric and smoky atmospheres, probably one of their other common passions, testifying of the perfect alchemy between these two producers.

Close crew associate and Bristol resident Holsten asserts his presence in the latest instalment of UVB-76’s sister label Droogs. A resonant echo of noughties Drum & Bass reverberates across the release, sounding silhouettes of Dylan, Skitty, and Horsemen era Loxy & Ink.

‘Abscess’ rapidly paces through and switches between rapid fire breaks atop a constant sinister tone and full-bodied bottom end. On the flipside ‘Momentum’ mounts a thunderous rolling assault of breaks, bass and distorted groove providing apt response to Abscess’ call.

Chris Royle aka Dexta is a London based DJ/Producer who has been slowly contributing to the D&B scene since 2010. He is one of the co-founders of the giraffe mad record label imprint ‘Diffrent Music’ and has been fronting and developing the label ever since. 

Dexta has taken the Diffrent Music sound on the road since 2010 and tends to play an unexpected selection of music at every event. Bringing through new and unheard of artists, friends and collaborators and even influential music from outside of the D&B circuit.

Dexta has been a releasing artist since 2013 and since has released music on Protect Audio, Diffrent Music, Flexout Audio & Dispatch Recordings, with other work signed to and forthcoming on Clyon Recordings, Nurtured Beatz and his own imprint Diffrent Music.

Much like the Diffrent Music label ‘sound’, Dexta has a wide range of musical influences and this shines through when you listen over his output and the Diffrent Music back catalogue, it’s very hard to pin down a specific kind of style, it’s more about exploring and experimenting with new and different areas every time.

You can look forward to hearing and the possibility of releases of ‘communal’ and ‘general’ collaborations with artists such as Arkaik, Crypticz, Fearful, Lakeway, Mauoq, Mtwn & Sense MC.
