Left’d 8 see’s the imprint come roaring back into peak time territories. Continuing to grow organically and extend its sonic range, the label has taken on a life of its own. Through combining a pair of fresh artists on each release, Left’d is revelling in building its own extended family. Newcomer Shall Ocin takes things to another level with a pair of poppy numbers dripping in underground sleaze while UK based Jonny Cade pitches in with two no-nonsense stompers. 
 
Based in Valencia, Shall Ocin is the kindred musical spirit of none other than 2011 sensation Maceo Plex. Combining assertive drums and melody with a liquid, UK leaning strut, he brings Moving On to the package. Vocals take centre stage, with a strangled femalevocal pitched both up and down then later set against the back ground of hushed conversation.
 
Patay is a flexing, late night analogue jam set to a sexual pulse. An ascending, retro tinted melody freely dictates the pace, ebbing and flowing with pomp and purpose. Recoiling itself then breaking loose, the melody unravels itself in hypnotic fashion, willing itself to be teased into a peak hour set. The Spanish producer taps directly into the dynamics of the floor, the yearning male vocals catch the tension in the air, while gravely bass kicks deep in the pit of your stomach.
 
Jonny Cade’s Powerdigger is classic Leftroom. A ballsy number that works the low end, it chugs away while subtly adding cheeky melodic elements. Cade’s intelligent drum programming and clever fills help gather momentum, eventually building into a grinning, electro tinged wobbler. 
 
Easing things in with distant vocals and swelling sub, Ray Gun builds into a heads down slice of dance floor heat. A well-honed piece of London-centric deep tech house, thetrack perfectly catches the capitals relentless underground scene. Affirming keys tumble over wobbling bass to keep the floor rolling.
 
Left’d pulls together a disparate set of influences and two burgeoning producers. From wobbling subs to fragmented keys and twisted vocals, all four tracks will bring somethingunique to the floor in their own right.

As with many of the best relationships in today's day and age, Yaya and Jun Akimoto found each other on Facebook. Yaya reached out to Jun and "BOOM", a beautiful musical relationship sprouted. 

A beautiful complex fusion of Deep & Spacious, Trippy & Relentless is used in perfect harmony for their new Just You EP. You can clearly hear Yaya's melancholic tone in combination with Jun Akimoto's trademark wistful tremble. Getting lost in a wave of digital release is the only natural response.

The track Just You is introduced with a deep trembling bass line, whispers of vocals and scratchy undertones that add both dimension and character. This loopy number will surely transport you to the moon and back.

Only That Time features a murky interpretation of a clock ticking followed by quick tremors of snaps and beeps. Yaya and Jun have created a perfect medley of sounds that lead to a perfectly orchestrated enigmatic climax. 

When I listen to Pastral Clap all I can envision is a going on a deep-sea exploration. With shivering bass and shadowy hints of vigor, how can one not be transported into the depths of the ocean?

This and That’s enigmatic back catalogue is enhanced once again on their fourth release; this time by the formidable trio of Davide Squillace, Guti and Carl Cox.

Following on from the success of their 2011 collaboration, ‘That Ginger Ponytail’, good friends Davide Squillace and Guti got in the studio together for another trailblazing session behind the desk. Seemingly having even more fun than last time around, the pair clearly enjoyed bringing out the eccentricities of each other’s personalities on this track. The result is a record that is both fun and groovy; underground yet still insatiably infectious. ‘The Other Side Of Hustler’ is built around a wildly loose and funky bassline that underpins the entire track. There’s a real fluidity to the tune, due in no small part to the producers’ deft ability at allowing the deep bassline to run with freedom alongside some untamed drumming whilst also retaining the track’s clear narrative. 

On the flip, This and That are delighted to welcome Carl Cox into the family with his dope remix of the title track. Stripping things back somewhat, Carl replaces the funk of the original with a building sense of tension, constructed with dub-like bass stabs. The subtle groove works towards a climax that although threatens with skewered synths and crisp hi-hats, never actually spills over.

Galleria Fonti’s Birgit Megerle provides the intriguing artwork for this release. The Berlin based artist has won wide acclaim for her abstract and passionate style, an aesthetic that is on display as  she joins the This and That family with this great piece.

DJ, producer, engineer, vinyl enthusiast, synth collector; there are many strings to Dexter's bow. Forged in the fires of the thriving London party scene, this latest endeavour from Ed Kane draws from many years' experience in the studio and behind the decks. Whilst being influenced by a wide range of genres, Dexter's music remains unique. Although you may not be able to pigeonhole him, you'll almost definitely be able to recognise his distinct sound. Often deep; sometimes dark; distinctly analogue; ever maintaining a groove lead, dance-floor aesthetic.

Dexter has signed tracks to the likes of Memoria, Get Physical, hedZup, Highgrade, Murmur and Fear of Flying, as well as being responsible for a solid stream of releases on his own label Shadow Sanctuary. A-list support has been frequent and gig requests have come from far afield. While his style lies rooted in London's clandestine basements and after-hours scene, Dexter is an astute and versatile DJ, capitalising on years of experience to read any manner of discerning dancefloor.

At the beginning of 2017 Dexter started Alternate facts alongside kindred spirit Thoma Bulwer. After throwing a string of illegal parties across The Capital, they now find themselves running regular events at the legendary The Lion and Lamb and managing a burgeoning vinyl only label.
