The A-side ‘Poison Seas’ with DRS is no doubt the emotional singularity of the project, focussing on extended song writing instead of rolling loops. When the lyrics are as chilling delivered acapella as they are in a musical context, the emotional body of this piece is unavoidable. Each instrument, swell, delay, and drone all serve their individual melodic and rhythmic functions to form a hidden chord progression that drives the semantic weight of DRS’ poetry.

A favourite throughout D&B scenes across the globe, the legendary DJ Marky is back on Shogun Audio with his highly awaited track with fellow Brazillian producer Alibi and Bristol-based vocalist Charli Brix, whose recent debut album has solidified her spot as one of the most sought-after voices in drum and bass music. 

Titled ‘Natural Feeling’, the trio serves up a crisp, groove-laden beauty of a song that's beautifully  infectious and feel-good nature will get people smiling and dancefloors moving from Sau Paulo to St Paul’s. Not many tunes work perfectly through both a sound system and a pair of headphones, but DJ Marky, Alibi, and Charli Brix have joined forces to deliver one of those D&B masterpieces in scintillating fashion.

Veteran mic-controller Richard Twaites, better known as his force-wielding alter ego Visionobi, has been hard at work in the studio for the last 21 months crafting his sought-after debut album. After a bustling 2022 for the British MC, we’re incredibly proud to present the forthcoming fruits of his linguistic labour in the form of the 12-track aural experience that is the ‘Weather The Storm’ LP. The album, the culmination of 25 years of work, boasts a whopping 14 collaborators, featuring some of the game’s most valued and esteemed vocalists and producers. Visionobi’s first foray into the long-player format showcases his talent for both writing and delivery across a whole range of styles and sub-genres from our diverse scene. 

On ‘Bleeding Out’ our protagonist teams up with North Quarter affiliate producer Zero T and soulful-siren Aaliyah Esprit for a notably playful, bouncy cut from the LP. Showcasing definite dedication to the deed, the trio convey an exuberant temper in this head-nodding, soiree-shaker which is sure to light up even the mildest of moods. 

Bleeding Out lands in all good stores on 14th April.

Finally fusing together his two music loves, drum & bass and metal, with such clarity, “Reminisce” sets the benchmark in what to expect from TIB’s new album and music from now on.

Natty Campbell (Chase & Status, Chopstick Dubplate & Dub Pistols) also returns for vocal duties after last year’s collaboration “Set It” (ProgRam), providing a high energy vocal, perfectly complimenting the track’s aggressive low-tuned guitars and driving drums.
