Swing Zazou have also performed live on the BBC Radio 1 as part of the Rob da Bank Electro Swing Special, and their debut track 'Wideboy' has recently been released on 'Electro Swing Revolution 3' (Nov 2012). They are currently working on their second single which is due for release later this year (2013).

They say music is the best pain killer and when it comes to choppy up-beat rhythms and addictive melodies The DF118’s are just what the doctor ordered.

Branded as psychedelic ska, The DF118s serve up a potent cocktail of – surprisingly enough – upbeat ska and colourful psychedelic rock. Influences range from 80’s bands such as The Specials and The Beat to more recent acts such as Dread Zone, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Toasters, Dread Zepplin and The Ozric Tentacles. At first glance, this strange brew of influences seems slightly odd – but after one listen you’ll get the hang of it.

The 5 founding members of the band have been playing musical chairs together in various bands for over 20 years. Their journey towards DF118 medication takes in names such as Esperanza, In Transit, Diff’rent Level, Di Mojo Ann, Techno Scrapies, The Emotional Tourists, Slider and The Tartan Rascals.

Possibly the most successful previous collaboration for the band was with The Counterfeit Clash who toured and gigged all over the UK for almost 20 years. All 5 members of the DF118’s were involved with the Counterfeits to some extent. (Rab on guitar, Johnny on drums, Shug was reserve bass player, Accy was manager & roadie and James was roadie & driver). After almost 20 years of paying homage to The Clash however, it was time to take the music in new and original direction. So in their latest cocktail, we hear the DF118’s produce a sound which is both familiar and fresh.

Lyrically, their songs take you on a hedonistic rollercoaster ride. One minute you’re at the dizzy heights of 21st century life, then you drop into the reality of a Monday morning. Along the way, we hear stories of love, trans-sexuals, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, festivals and parties. It’s good old sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll all the way - served up DF118 style. The songs are heart felt, honest and provocative. Sometimes tongue-in-cheek and sometimes disturbingly gritty. All in all, the DF118’s administer a fresh musical cocktail that will have you addicted after 1 listen. Be warned!

Silas Neptune is the keyboard player for the UK Cult Indie band Ozric Tentacles. His music journeys through secret realms and far off dreamscapes exploring of the nature of the Cosmos. A unique musician with an evocative sense of harmony and a knack for enchanting melodies. Navigating a range of instruments, primarily synthesizers and guitar, but also Turkish saz and fretless bass. In his hidden sonic laboratory Silas experiments with musical alchemy, creating multidimensional soundscapes which take us through the waters of the imagination. As expected, the listener tastes an instantly recognizable flavor akin to the parent band, but with tones of fresh new character and a modern Electronic sound. In an attempt to unravel the fabric of space-time, this music is the result of Silas’s ventures into the unknown.
