'EDX has undoubtedly had a great start to 2014. With 'Reckless Ardor' and 'Cool You Off' both hovering around the top 10 of the Beatport Deep House Chart for weeks after release, the latter is still riding high at number 3. 

Next up, and looking set to rival his previous successes is 'Air For Life', set for release on May 25th 2014 through PinkStar Records.  

Constantly flirting between progressive and deep house, EDX manages to create another stunning track with 'Air For Life'. Beautifully uplifting and energetic melodies combined with gentle drum beats that are both infections and cool. 

Over the past few years, EDX aka Maurizio Colella has made a name for himself in the international dance music scene, headlining the world's finest clubs and festivals to crowds in excess of 60,000 -- from Miami to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York,  all the way to Sydney. 

Starting 2014 at the top of the Beatport charts with his deep house single, 'Reckless Ardor', followed by 'Cool You Off' and his highly anticipated 'Miami Sunset' remix of Avicii's 'Wake Me Up', EDX remains as a prominent, influential force in dance music releasing some of the most in demand tracks of the moment.'

EDX - Air For Life - PinkStar Records

Following the original release of ‘Lightning’ earlier this year, house stalwart EDX lends his skilled hands to remixing duty for his version, out on Big Beat on the 21st of July via Beatport.

EDX brings his signature uplifting touch to the mixing desk, bolstering the track with classic piano chords and lush strings that connect with John Rzeznik’s vocals to take the track to new heights. The effect can only be described as an out-and-out anthem - something EDX seems to have the formula for in his DNA.

It’s fair to say Italian born producer/DJ has had a pretty good year so far. Starting off with “Reckless Ardor” and “Cool You Off” both hovering within the top 10 of the Beatport Deep House Chart for weeks after release - the latter currently sitting at no. 10 - in fine company with “Breathin’” at no.6, his most recent release to join the party. 

Aside from headlining the world’s finest clubs and festivals to crowds in excess of 60,000, EDX has remixed the likes of Deadmau5, Mary J Blige, Bob Sinclar, Armand van Helden, Steve Angello, Roger Sanchez, Kool & The Gang and Lauryn Hill to name a few. 
All things considered, this rework of “Lightening” looks set to strike gold on the 21st.

A Pete Tong endorsed anthem and immediate festival favourite, Above & Beyond's "Blue Sky Action" (feat. Alex Vargas) has been turning heads globally throughout the summer of 2014. Emotive and atmospheric in typically epic proportions, "Blue Sky Action" now sees a re-imagining by long-time friend of the Anjuna family Maurizio Colella, aka EDX. 

Equally adept at creating peak-time anthems or contemporary progressive deep house, Maurizio has long been admired by Above & Beyond for his dexterity of sound and memorable melodies. Taking a deeper approach reminiscent of recent hits "Cool You Off", "Air For Life" and "Reckless Ardor", EDX's "Blue Sky Action" remix is an unflinching dance floor mover. A resolute bassline and tight groove give way to a melancholic chord heavy breakdown, with Alex Vargas emotive vocal carrying throughout the track - before falling back to the ear-grabbing bass heavy riff.

Vocally driven, with a little nibble of the guitars and a lonely trumpet somewhere in the distance, David Marston & Dan Izco remix of Fork In the Path by Life on Planets is a beautiful tune. Taking you from everyday life into somewhere else. Finally driving the thing home with a apex of drums, piano and some pads, this song is quite something.

After releasing his debut single via UK taste-maker electronic label Black Butter, which went on to receive extensive airplay on all BBC Stations in the UK and support throughout Europe, the Swedish singer, multi instrumentalist and producer went on to release the next single "Turn Around" via Italian electronic label Life & Death. The single, accompanied by the original track "Boys & Girls" and remix by German producer duo Âme, soon made its way across dancelfoors and sets across the globe.

"In a lot of ways I escape in music," explains Sjodin. "It's a world where I feel home, where life is quite easy, where I can explore sides of me I didn't knew existed."

As the string-swept power balladry of "Tough Love" bleeds into the beatific melodrama of last year's "Turn Around", the tense, slow-burning summit of "Sweat" rises. The latter is Sailor & I's latest deep cut, the lead-off listen from an EP that also manages to turn a classic Joy Division track ("Disorder") on its head. Faithfully mind you, as a blank, drum-less canvas is coated in cold-pressed keys and a strictly '80s setup.

"I'm a bit terrified by the force of music," explains Sjodin, "and what it turns me into in the long run. Will it slow down eventually or will it go the other direction and make me insane? I have no idea, but I feel that it’s very important to keep exploring what is behind those invisible doors."
