Hottest BJ for a while this! Pure terrace-friendly house music fire from legendary producer Arthur Baker. Highly limited as usual. First come - first served.

Anyone whose served time on the dancefloors during Ibiza's more heady days will be up on the flavours showcased here: tribal-tinged, big room grooves full of congas, sax blasts and low, rumbling bass. 

Arthur and Laz met at MURKs famed Monday residency at Coyo Tacos Wynnwood Miami where Casanova is a resident and Baker a guest resident. Heavily influced by the 'Miami sound', I bet these sounds worked just as well out there as they do on Europe's treasured party isle...

Laz and ABs first joint collab is the opener "Makossa". It started off from a few 80s loops out of Bakers vast catalogue, with Casanova whipping them in shape. It’s been battle tested over the last few years, with the subtle play between breakdown and release ratched up super tight. Big smiles all round when this bad boi drops...

“Dale!” features the vocal and production skills of Murk's legendary Oscar. He added the wild saxophone hook and a few other nudges in a late night session at Casanova's little Havana studio, resulting in this fiery tribal house stomper that primed for mainroom play. 

Finally, "BTs Happiness" sees Baker pair up with old friend & ex-wife, Tina b (of "Rockers Revenge", "Tripping on Sunshine" and "Jazzy Sensation" fame) to do some vocalizing. A low pass filter squeezes a whole manner off funky house goodness through on this one: jubilant strings, rolling bassline and glistening guitar licks.

Lowres is a brand new project from Fyodor Stepanenko (aka Nphonix) and Ivan Voltanov (aka Zimmer G). Their latest release has just landed on Minor Notes, a label which LV online has really enjoyed over the last 12 months with some great releases from the likes of Baltimore Chop and Lipski. It’s an EP with real depth and well worth checking out.

STEP021 Das Komplex - Miazsz 

Catz'N Dogz underground outlet STEP is well known for giving space to some of the most eclectic artists to showcase their infinite talents. The label so far has released the likes of Baltra, DJ Steaw, Eduardo De La Calle, Analogue Roland Orchestra and Panthera Krause to name but a few and this summer is ready to drop yet another huge record, coming from usual suspect Das Komplex.

The Polish producer already figures amongst the artists to have given music to STEP but his music is also showing up on DJ Harvey's' Mercury Rising' compilation, Oficyna Transatlantyk,Mireia Records and has been played by the likes of the late great Andrew Weatherall, Axel Boman and many more. 'Miazsz' EP comprises of 5 groove-driven, relentless down tempo and dreamy cuts, showcasing the wide musical knowledge and the diversely inspired aesthetic of Das Komplex' sonic textures. The EP takes us on a journey through genres, from House to Disco, and never fails to leave its mark.

The prolific ​On The Corner Records ​are proud to present “Trans-Neptunia”, the mind bending debut LP  from ​Planet Battagon, ​exploring new dimensions in leftfield experimentation, cosmic sampling and ancient drum machines. 

Seen drumming with ​Basement Jaxx​, a long-night with a Pearl Syncussion SY-1 drum synth led to Planet Battagon’s rhythm master Nathan “Tugg” Curran setting off on a intergalactic exploration, 
searching in the rhythmic seas between Saturn’s Rings, creating a full album’s worth of super-sonic jazz-rave, the likes of which have never been heard.

Planet Battagon’s ‘Trans-Neptunia’ was recorded over a couple of days by Tugg, on Live Drums, synth bass, synth drums, & FX in almost full improvisation with associates Martin Slattery (bass clarinet, alto 
sax , Soprano Sax & FX), Oli Savill (percussion) Mickey Ball (trumpet) and Jack Baker (drums 3-tracks).. Avoiding the many pitfalls and cliches of both jazz and electronic music, the group jammed around a number of themes, whilst synth lines were triggered by Tugg making the machines partners in the group 
jams that laid the foundations of this album.

From the wonky, twisting sonics of “Wezlee’s Disco Inferno” to the frantic, scattered patterns of “Escape From Sedna” the EP is full of psychedelic textures and deep space distress signals, coded in a language transformed via earthly amplifiers to resemble a sound landing somewhere between the musical outputs of ​Sun Ra, Aphex Twin, Herbie Hancock ​and C​arl Craig​.  

With early support from ​Gilles Peterson and ​The Wire​, ‘Trans-Neptunia’ is poised to further establish not only Planet Battagon, but the autonomous right to improvise of all imperfect drum machines.
