SINNAMON - I NEED YOU NOW (MOPLEN EDIT)

No doubt, “I Need You Now” by Sinnamon is one of the most sampled recordings ever. 
During the past three decades, this R & B/Soul/Dance/Funk/Electronic track has become a classic club anthem. 
Now, thanks to a skillfully edited version of the original recording dubbed “I Need You Now (Moplen Edit)” by Luca Locatelli, Stevette Music is pleased to be a part of the 30th Anniversary re-mastered release of this timeless masterpiece. 
Included on this release is a bonus of the song’s very basic tracks from a cassette tape that has also endured and survived over this period of time. It represents a point in time, in fact 1979, when five very young men, barely in their twenties, went into a studio totally unrehearsed, and “nailed” those tracks in one take. 
Later, on overdubbed tracks, Andre Booth who wrote “This Beat Is Mine” by Vickie D, would become one of the first keyboard players to utilize a synthesizer on a dance record. 
On subsequent overdubs, R. Bernard Fowler, would lend his powerful voice to the song as lead & background vocalist. 
LaForrest Cope, who wrote Whitney Houston’s “You give Good Love”, and Jacqueline Sampson would also contribute their soulful vocals as background singers.
I am confident that all will enjoy this latest rendition, true to the original version.

"I wrote, recorded, and produced this song back in 1979, with R. BERNARD FOWLER as lead vocalist. Way before the Peech Boys. 
This song is where they got "Don't Make Me Wait" from, the opening line to " I Need You Now". 
Moplen, I wish you had been around to mix this back "in the day".
You did a great job!!!! 
We only need to pressure a record company to re-release your mix.
This is hot!!!!

Manchester (UK) based Techno producer Callum Plant first appeared on DEAD CERT. Records in 2014 when he collaborated with Carlo Ribeiro on a track titled "Demand." It was a big hit picking up support from Luigi Madonna who played it in his mix for Hans Bouffmyhre’s podcast series linked to his label Sleaze Records. Other people who supported the track included Richie Hawtin, Sam Paganini, Pig&Dan, Joseph Capriati, Chris Liebing and Truncate to name just a few. 

A rising star, Callum has also had music released on labels including Owen Sands and Justin Kase's Ill Bomb Records plus Lex Gorrie's label Unknown Territory. Now he presents his first solo EP on DEAD CERT. Records. 

The release features two original tracks and two separate remixes from Rommek and XHEI. 

Based in London (UK) Rommek is a resident at influential London club night Dazed & Confused, also hosting his Erosion show on Seance Radio. He is an accomplished producer who has previously released on Emmanuel's label ARTS, Sonntag Morgen and Weekend Circuit. 

Argentinian XHEI makes his return to DEAD CERT. Records after the release of his Memorial EP in 2014. Having since released on labels including CLR, Dynamic Reflection, Illegal Alien and Rebekah’s label Decoy, he is a hyped producer and deservedly so. 

The first original track titled "Zhode" begins this fiery package, straight into a raw beat with crunching hats and drums heavy enough to break concrete. Its moody atmosphere is brought to life by sweeping industrial sounds that scrape through the mix like a metal bar being dragged over a stone floor. Powerful and energetic it’s fierce and aggressive with dark undertones that are perfect for the dancefloor. 

Remixing Zhode is Rommek who lifts the BPM to add forward momentum and increase the energy. Keeping the originals dark and industrial sounds he strips back some of the drums to create space and increase the dark atmosphere already present in the original. Tough and hypnotic his remix has all the originals charm, but added menace and intensity. 

Track three titled "Xhang" is the second of Callum’s original tracks. With a shuffling groove and reduced tempo, the track is less energetic than his first on the EP but just as intense. Thick with grit this dirty beast of a roller is heavily focused on broken rhythms and a pounding kick. Like an approaching storm, eerie winds breeze passed your ears and transport your brain to the bleak industrial landscapes of another world, whilst monstrous sounds create nervous excitement of the unknown. 

The last track is XHEI’s remix of Xhang and he steps up the energy by throwing away the originals broken rhythm, which he replaces with a pulsating bass line to create a straight down the line rolling groove. Taking no prisoners it has all of the originals industrial appeal but a high octane increased tempo, which makes it perfectly suited to peak time DJ sets.

Last autumn, Cologne-based duo COMA released their long-awaited sophomore full-length THIS SIDE OF PARADISE (KOMPAKT 335 CD 126) - Mixmag proclaimed the album as “a lush, melodic and electronic creature” that completely fits their wide sonic palate. The band gave free reign to have the artists that appear on this release remix their favorite tracks from the album. What we have is a trio of great reinterpretations that literally sound like they come from the heart: MOSCOMAN is definitely on his way to being hailed as a face to watch in 2016. His releases on ESP Institute, I'm A Cliché and Renate were played to death in our office, so we happily welcome him with this amazing remix of BORDERLINE. We got to know BAIO as a member of VAMPIRE WEEKEND - he has kept our ears on alert thanks to great releases on Greco-Roman and his phenomenal debut album. He takes on THE SEA in his own way and warps it into an epic dance floor bloomer. Look out for a remix of BAIO that COMA did which is expected out soon. ALEX HENTZE rounds off this release with a step-heavy crooner to end any great night out.

Two years on since his BR debut in Berlin, our attention is drawn once again to Benedikt Frey and his Lopasura (Love, Pain, Sunshine & Rain) imprint. Since its 2012 formation, Lopasura has housed Benedikt's own releases. Following on from the Connect Four compilation by Drvg Cvltvre, Mark Forshaw, The Acid Mercenaries and Benedikt himself, he now returns with the label's fourth release. Out of the Fog showcases a trio of analogue-laden techno mastery. The title track opens proceedings fittingly. Acid low-tessitura chords hiss continuously underneath while siren synths whir in and out in their grandeur, peaking to symphonic effect before fading back into the dark. A sense of drama that encompasses Love, Pain, Sunshine & Rain comprehensively.

Catch Out of the Fog creeping out of the shadows on 21st April via Lopasura.

"To celebrate the 30th anniversary of OutRun, we are delighted to present a very special vinyl edition of its timeless music. Originally released in 1986, OutRun remains one of the most recognisable arcade games ever made. At its time of release, the music, by renowned SEGA Sound Team member Hiroshi “Hiro” Kawaguchi, was a triumph of imagination and creativity. It showcased a fusion of styles and influences, all ingeniously and inexplicably condensed into the confines of an eighties arcade board. The music was so integral to the game itself, that it is now difficult to imagine OutRun – or, indeed, the history of arcade music – without the enduring charm of Hiro’s soundtrack.

The vinyl release includes the entirety of Hiro’s original OutRun, sourced directly from the 1986 arcade machine, alongside three bonus tracks drawn from the 1991 Mega Drive and 2014 Nintendo 3DS versions of the game, all of which have been carefully remastered. It is packaged in a heavyweight 425gsm matt varnished sleeve, with custom die-cut window, three interchangeable covers, traditional OBI strip and liner notes written by Hiro himself."

Jex Opolis Presents: "In The Nite", a versatile new EP featuring three cosmic cuts from the NYC-based musician and producer. The new music also features the help of Ian D. Knight, a St. Louis-based performance artist. After a chance meeting at a Knight performance in Chelsea last winter, the pair decamped to Jex’s NY-based rooftop greenhouse/studio for a two-week session of music and vaping. With Knight on-hand mostly for spiritual guidance and janitorial duties, the tracks flowed like organic wine and the wine flowed like really smooth music. Knight features most prominently on the Compass Point-tinged “Look At My Car!,” a Paean to the joys of both consumerism and rampant motorism. Meanwhile, Jex whips out the Strat for some Chic-inspired licks on the chugging “Guitar Sands" here premiered. And on the flip, “Rimini Nites” is a straight-ahead 120 BPM Italo stomper. One for the heads!

Roman Flügel – third take. Hot on the heels of "Brian Le Bon" and the "Desperate Housemen EP", the man like Roman IV, Soylent Green and Alter Ego’s spectacled half supplies four tracks of heavenly proportions. Ramona doesn’t even know where to start with her eulogy, but at the start. The EP opener "O.T.H." feels like a time travel to bleepy Sheffield and dreamy Detroit while wearing the equipment of today. Same goes for "Girls With Status" that acts as a mellow 808 yet straight forward counter part to the Balearic beach grip hop that is "Thank You Jack". Crowning all that is the gurning bass line reverie of "Cookie Dust" that will leave you and your favourite DJ top and speechless. Enough descriptions! What’s left to say? Oh yes, this record had Gerd Janson salivating – and he won’t be the only one.
