Launching early June 2013, DFTD is a breakout label to Defected Records. Focusing on fresh, new and undiscovered talent from around the globe - along with the occasional curveball release from established acts, DTFD has released music from the likes of Guti, Jonas Rathsman, Forrest, Andre Lodemann and NiCe 7 over the past 5 years.

DFTD complements its parent label and has a more diverse musical remit, releasing a broad range of electronic music, focussing on quality, discerning dance music.

My passion for music began when I was young and recorded my own playlist on a cassette using my grandfather's vintage stereo. As a teenager, my friends and I would often take road trips to the nearby big city, but the local radio stations never played what we wanted to hear. That's when I took matters into my own hands and brought along my own mixtape.

My friends loved the music I curated, and it quickly became a tradition to listen to my mixtape during our trips. Soon, others in my small town caught wind of my mixes and started asking for copies. I saw this as an opportunity to create something more personal, so I began branding my mixtapes with the name "CiaE".

As more and more people requested copies, I realized how much I loved creating music that people enjoyed. This early experience ignited a passion within me that would later shape my career as a musician.
