When Josh One released his solo debut ‘Contemplation’ the LA producer never imagined the cultural impact the record would have, and when King Britt’s Funke Remix came out, ‘Contemplation’ was cemented in the house music halls of fame. Now, two brand new remixes refresh this timeless house gem for 2020 dancefloors. As DFTD continue to champion rising stars of the scene, Athens-born artist Philip Z’s bootleg opens the release with his gloriously bass-driven and bumpy cut. Up next, Dario D’Attis continues to cater for a deeper audience, with filtered drops and added synths building the atmosphere.

The Viennese producers Space Echo have been responsible for one of the biggest and brightest disco house tunes of the past years, 'Soul Power', released 2013 on Luv Shack. With 'Journey' we now welcome them on Light my Fire to kick the new year off in ample style. While 'Phobus Grunt' is a deep, cosmic affair, 'Buzz Lightyeah' nods to italo disco with amazing swing and bright melodic touches. 'Journey', on the other hand, centers around funky guitar licks and muted female vocal touches. Ken Hayakawa then gives 'Phobus Grunt' a UK funky twist, while Teenage Mutants delivers an earth shattering deep house rendition of 'Journey’. Happy New Year!
