Happy Release Day! Danûk’s debut album, Omni Sound's 2nd release "Morîk" is out today! A group of musicians brought together by their common love for traditional Kurdish music founded in exile in Istanbul in 2015, Danûk are inspired by music discovered in phonogram archives in Berlin and Vienna of folk and wedding songs of Kurdish culture; they bring these ancient sounds recorded in obsolete format into the present day. The themes of exile and home are woven throughout the album, reflecting the experience of displacement and the search for cultural identity in a world divided by political borders. By reclaiming access to century-old recordings stored in museum archives in Europe, Danûk is empowering themselves and their culture by preserving and disseminating the pearls of their musical heritage.

The Irresistible Force aka Mixmaster Morris’ KIRA KIRA comes to vinyl after much anticipation! Released originally on Liquid Sound Design in 2017, ‘Kira Kira’ is a hypnotic and exhilarating return to form for The Irresistible Force. Digitally re-mastered by Grant Collins (Darshan) @ 4DA studios and including 2 BONUS tracks not on original.

His first full length release in nearly twenty years, this album dips and dives through lush ambient soundscapes, combining Mixmaster Morris’ signature use of crate digging, live instrumentation, and swirling electronics.
‘Kira Kira’ expands on The Irresistible Force sound, exploring the depths of ambient and chillout music. 
The music draws you through a maze of Japanese influences, dub basslines (courtesy of the legendary Jah Wobble), Balearic textures, and the jazz tinged sound of Nik Turner’s (Hawkwind) saxophone.
Created at legendary producer Martin ‘Youth’ Glover’s Space Mountain Studios in the suitably epic, yet idyllic, mountains of southern Spain, Youth, acting as production supervisor, brought his own unique feel to the album, adding warbling arpeggios and a modern aesthetic to the classic sound of The Irresistible Force.

This Observation Show was created by DF TRAM, on a winters day, dreaming about spring, so it's called "The Rights of Spring" with lots of old tracks and some of DF Tram's new unreleased originals. DF Tram is an Electronic music producer, dj, and visual artist originally hailed from Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. His genre-fusion, cinematic, psychedelic, audio/visual sets got the attention of ' Youth ' Martin Glover (Bassist of Killing Joke/ Producer for Paul McCartney, The Orb, The Verve, etc.) and his legendary chillout label Liquid Sound Design, and they helped to produce his low-fi chillout masterpiece ' Serenitay Infinitay ' (2018). He has produced countless remixes and productions under different pseudonyms and aliases, and has made a name for himself with his legendary DJ sets. He was nominated for an Ibiza Dj Award in the Eclectic category. 2024 will see his new album released on Alex Paterson's 'Orbscure' Label.

Chillits is an annual outdoor ambient music festival that takes place in the fall in the redwoods of Willits, California. I've never attended in person, but the DJs post their lovely musical sets online as MP3s and Torrents. This music keeps me calm all year, or tries anyway. I suggest starting with the sounds of DF Tram, but I'm biased. He's my favorite ambient DJ, spinning transgenre mixes inspired by and drawing from electronica, jazz, avant-garde classical, and the history of computer music.
