So many people get caught up in the past and in the future.
It's no wonder why our presence in the world shines so dim.
Filled with thoughts of resentment and regret.
Immersed in the idea of the me-self.
The who else can I be to satisfy the mass majority.
As a minority the task grows immensely.
Hang with the whites, I'm labeled a sellout.
Hang with the blacks, I'm labeled a thug.
Just can't seem to get the hell out.
What if I'm all the above?
A human just showing love.
Not perfect because no one is.
No one knows the real me, not even me myself...

First I was born, pure in my very essence. 
The second I started to cry, my pureness was slowly severed.
