Following strong releases from Marlon Hoffstadt and Timothy Clerkin, Ransom Note Records return with their final offering of 2018 - and it’s somewhat different than you might have come to expect from the label. Out 14th December, Embodiment is the new EP from Latvian-born, Tel Aviv-based artist Anna Lann, whose arresting combination of techno, experimental electronics and left-field pop music has drawn comparisons to artists such as Holly Herndon, Arca and Cucina Povera.

Lann’s four originals are accompanied by some stellar remixes that break down and reassemble her compositions. The best of these comes from Panorama Bar resident Nick Höppner, who constructs a wide-eyed lullaby built around Anna’s vocals and a parade of naive, glassy synth melodies. Saturated with intense feeling, it’s no surprise that Höppner’s version has found admirers in the form of Honey Soundsystem and Nathan Micay. Try drawing for this one next time the lights come on at the end of the night and watch as the room melts into pastel-hued slush.
