Playing with a broad range of rhythms and melodies inspired by his native Brazil, the Middle East, and beyond, Kurup uses music as a conduit through which to consider questions on life, existence, and what it is to be human. Bibacumbe is the title track from another stunning compilation dropping on Sounds of Khemit this Friday. Dandara teams up with the powerful vocalist G Zamora for this melodic and mystic afro-latin cut. 

Sekhmet means nothing less than 'she, who is powerful.' The Egyptian deity is a warrior master, a master of healing and the destroyer of the enemies of the light, and she is the inspiration for the label's fourth thoughtful EP. 

Swiss DJ and producer Dandara and percussionist, singer and student of African rhythm G.Zamora kick off with 'Bibacumbe.' 

They combine European and world influences with 'Bibacumbe,' a deep groove peppered with rolling toms and Spanish vocals, infectious strings and soulful synths. Mexican Tanit is a real fiesta DJ who has landed on the likes of Go Deeva. Her immersive 'Nomus' is an atmospheric roller with an airy mystic melody and rolling rubber drums. It's full of life and intriguing natural motifs that keep you hypnotised. Lastly, the versatile VRuno is a music composer and multi-instrumentalist passionate about organic world music and slow techno.

 He impresses with 'Birds', which has melancholic piano chords draped over the heartfelt drums. It's a heady track with a thoughtful mood that takes you deep into the night. ‘Empowering Sekhmet’ features a trio of escapist and evocative house tracks.

'Sol Selectas embarks on its seventh annual summer compilation which collects together tracks from around the world and releases them on the day of the summer solstice, which is the year's longest day of sunlight.

Summer Sol VII is a 26-track release that features music ranging from atmospheric deep house to percussive Afro house and downtempo electronic full of organic textures.

It includes tracks by label favourites such as Goldcap, Yamil, Guy Maayan and label owner Sabo, plus Sol Selectas debuts from artists like Safar (FR), Murmusica, and Amour Propre. In total the compilation features many new artists who are all being welcomed into the Sol Selectas family via their debut on this release.

The release features tracks from artists with roots in USA, Iran, Ukraine, Armenia, Turkey, France, Spain, Palestine, Colombia, Israel, Italy, Peru, Egypt, Mexico, Russia, Morocco, Eritrea, and Brazil. Together all these cultures and backgrounds combine to form the soundtrack of Summer and good vibrations.

Under the sun's rays we are all equal, regardless of skin colour, gender, political allegiances or sexuality, and this release is a celebration of how music brings people together. The music drifts from coast to coast, across several mountain ranges, deserts dunes and salty oceans.

Each of the tracks have their own story and is a little ray of sunshine to warm the mind, body and soul. All the previous releases in this annual series have been top sellers on Beatport, and this year is expected to be no different.

The idea of making a link between classical and electronic music has been constantly on his mind so he supports his sets playing live violin.

Playing most of the times with versatile selections, Alvaro’s sets are always riding in between different styles of music. This time he created a journey with music from talented artists as Bodaishin, Jean Vayat, Andreas Balicki, Bona Fide, Phoesy or Evren Furtuna in between others, and add some of his own unreleased productions.
