Morocco’s most respected ambassador for electronic music, Amine K, cues up a release that’s been some time in the making. ‘Taran’ comes in two versions, offering up pure vibes for both the day and the night, and the seasoned artist, who has previously released for Sol Selectas, Get Physical and Akbal Music, dishes up his debut for BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA label in fine style. Amine K gives us an insight into these wonderful brace of tracks...

“I started the track some seven or eight years ago. Back then, I really wanted to make something different, sexy and original and that would be appealing to a larger audience than what I was producing for back then. I ended up digging into different genres to see if I could crossover into them with my electronic music, and that’s how I found this dancehall reggaeton kind of vocal. And I loved it! However, I tried many times to get something out of it, but it just wasn’t the right. Fast forward two years, and I finally had something that I thought was pretty cool, so I sent it to Viv and she started playing it, but we both knew the track could be better. So, when the lockdown hit, I went back to my old tracks, but now having the knowledge and mastery of those past 10 years. I ended up having a good idea of what I wanted to do, and I've finally achieved it, and I got two versions. One is the Dr. Gonzo mix, which is more like day, uplifting and housey vibes, and the El Loko Mix which is more by night, and after-hours house vibes. Viv ended up liking both versions and here we are now :).”

Tel Aviv based artist Saraga arrives on Crosstown Rebels for the first time this December with Love And Happiness. It marks his only release in 2021 so far, highlighting a standout moment for the Israeli talent.

Saraga spoke on how each track came together, stating: “Al Green is a huge source of inspiration, so Love And Happiness felt very natural. Mujer was inspired by places like Tulum and Bogotá, which is why I chose that vocal. All Day Everyday came from a pure moment when my friend started to sing on my track and Mantra was created for the desert, as I was planning to play at Burning Man.”

Love And Happiness manifests as a minimal-leaning dance cut, with low-slung kick-hat pairings residing next to shimmering vocals throughout. Mujer brings an energetic, late-night feel before All Day Everyday arrives as an out-and-out club number. Gritty basslines merge with echoing vocal tones, whilst Mantra transports us thanks to Saharan-like whispers and tribal-flecked drum patterns.

Saraga is a well-known regular in Tel Aviv’s thriving musical scene. His productions have landed on established labels such as Nervous Records, Robsoul Recordings and Body Parts, catching the eye of leading tastemakers in the process including Marco Carola, Ricardo Villalobos and The Martinez Brothers to name a few. Performances across Ibiza, Paris, Mykonos, London, New York and a host of other global cities have brought his sound to international audiences, whilst 2022 looks set to be his biggest year yet with a huge collection of original releases, remixes and collaborations on the cards.

Valencia-based multi-instrumentalist, Dj & Producer @clemente_music teases us with 'Palo Santo', the second single taken from his upcoming album debut which will be released later this year via @piecesoflifeofc

First single from the project was 'Shesawa', a collaboration with rising Dj & producer Yamil that was released a few weeks ago and reached #9 on Beatport's Afro House charts. Now Clemente proves his versatility in the studio with a new solo production. 'Palo Santo' is a downtempo/organic cut designed for the dance floor, an immersive journey into a personal life story about compassion, equality and a homage to a free spiritual soul manifested through the prophecy of sound.

Clemente has committed his whole life to music. Talking in terms of talent German Brigante has achieved a distinctive and unmistakable sound easily recognizable, capable of making him stand out. We also want to emphasize effort, a quality that together with the innate talent that this artist has, becomes the sum that gives rise to the authenticity tangible in every of Brigante’s beats.

These qualities, polished in long studio journeys, plus the love that artist professes to the electro and break-beat sounds in the likes of Prodigy, are the ingredients that have helped to configure the sound palette of this producer. That is why top labels such as Dirtybird, Exploited or Diynamic have released the works of German Brigante. All of these tracks, composed with myriad of details placed in the right time at the ideal moment, received the support of artists such as Solomun or Dixon.

We are pleased to have DJ and producer Alberto Sola back. After six years without releasing any EP, he has chosen Back Hand to get back into production. He who was resident DJ in Barraca between 2004 and 2009, has published since then on various labels, from house to electronica.
In these two new tracks, 'Organic Show' and 'Kid Tubas' he fuses house with real musical instruments, recovering his characteristic style of organic house.
'Organic Show' presents a very elegant deep house, perfect for opening sessions and continuing to grow towards more powerful rhythms.
On the other hand, in 'Kid Tubas', he experiments with percussive rhythms somewhere between minimal and real tuba samples.
We're happy to see Alberto Sola's sound continue to evolve, building on where he left off.

They both pays homage to the Chilean region Altovalsol with a deep and melancholic tune including an outstanding German Brigante remix. 

Since the very first beats of ‘Altovalsol’ the ethnic percussion guides the listener into an afro journey where the kalimba adds the melody. Bubbling LFO’s effects are added to maintain certain tension. After that, a flute plays an emotive and epic leitmotive. That flute is the main ingredient for German Brigante’s remix. The head honcho in remix duties focuses his work into a more danceable side always respecting the general vibe of the track. G.Zamora, native of Málaga, is a musical producer and percussionist mostly influenced by ancient African and Latin American rhythms. Lover of electronic music in all its possible sources, and bearing in mind than electronic music and the most ancestral folklore walk hand in hand sharing the same main element: the hypnotic of rhythm. 

We can see Zamora's philosophy and musical culture reflected in this new exclusive production. He is delivering a solid and warn tune surrounded by his own vocals. 'De Todo Se Aprende' is an atemporal song influenced by the African vibe on the drums and the Latin blood on the vocals and melodies. 

This is the 9º release from the young but impressive label Pieces Of life, during the next months you can expect several quality releases, music from the heart far from trends and fashions.
