ਆਸਾਵਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehla:

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ 
Sing the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har.

ਜਪੀਐ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ।
Meditate on the celestial music.

ਸਾਧੂ ਰਸਨ ਭਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰ । 
The tongues of the holy Saints repeat it.

ਛੂਟਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸੁਣ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ
I have heard that this is the way to emancipation.

ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡ ਪੁਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
This is found by the greatest merit, O my mind. ||1||Pause||

ਖੋਜਹਿ ਜਨ ਮੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
The silent sages search for Him.

ਸ੍ਰਬ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ
God is the Master of all.

ਦੁਲਭ ਕਲਿ ਦੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ
It is so difficult to find Him in this world, in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga.

ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
He is the Dispeller of distress.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥
ਤੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
God is the Fulfiller of desires, O my mind. ||1||

ਮਨ ਸੋ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ
O my mind, serve Him.

ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵੀਐ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ-ਸਰੂਪ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ 
He is unknowable and inscrutable.

ਤਾਂ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ । 
Enshrine love for Him.

ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾ
He does not perish, or go away, or die.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਨਾਹ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He is known only through the Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੫੯॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ) ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੩।੧੫੯।
Nanak, my mind is satisfied with the Lord, O my mind. ||2||3||159||
