In utter disbelief of years gone by at light-speed, we are overjoyed (and slightly shocked) to announce the 20th anniversary of Dial Records.
When Dial was founded in Hamburg around the turn of the Millenium we envisioned it as an experimental platform for a musical dialog among close friends - never would we have then thought it would last that long.
Today Dial is like an ongoing diary for us documenting all these years across over a hundred releases, all the countless collaborations with artists and new friends we have made along the way.
In 2020 we would like to take a further look into the future. After the release of Soela's album Genuine Silk (April 24th) and the upcoming XDB debut album in September, our jubilee compilation DIAL 2020 will be the frequent companion throughout the anniversary year. Our favorite artists will be presented on a series of releases- first in digital formats and finally as a very special vinyl edition.
With DIAL 2020 (II) (July 10th) we're thrilled to announce the stunning works of Christopher Ledger, Soela, Whodat, Yone-ko, Jacques Bon & Drux and Carsten Jost. Again we're blessed with outstanding productions by some of our favorite producers and a rare contribution of label founder Carsten Jost.
Throughout the entire year, we will be open for all kinds of media, documentaries, interviews and label stories. A publication documenting the visual endeavors of Dial Records will shine a light on that very crucial part of the label's history and will be released towards the fall of 2020.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - DIAL 2020 (II)

German veterans Dirk Mantei (Dman) and David Moufang (Move D) have been friends since the early 90s. The next release on Smallville is their "All You Can Tweak" LP, a collection of 7 tracks produced between 2011 and 2021, and the end result makes it very easy to tell the rapport and chemistry that exists between the two artists. 

Today, we feature this revered duo as we premiere "All You Can Sweep", the C2 track. Being created by Mantei and Moufang, and released via Smallville, there is a certain level of quality we would all expect from this combination. This track (and the release as a whole) delivers exactly that. This 7-minute deep house excursion is representative of the rest of the release: well-executed, interesting, and dance-floor friendly deep house, featuring classic sounds with a refreshing, modern take. 

The full EP will be out on December 2, 2022 via the legendary Smallville Records.

Michal Turtle is an esteemed and well renowned figure in leftfield, experimental music having been releasing material for some 40 odd years. Nico Sun is all about journeying. Since his debut «Caravan» came out on Arche in 2014, Nico traveled through many different aural and geographical landscapes. «Varak», his mighty return to Arche pictures this musical journey in a very extensive way - drone layers are floating on a dark ambient mood, evolving into sloppy rhythms. Guitar riffs are narrating stories from both past and future before transforming into a trippy, electronical body of sound, clearly implying that this caravan is not to be stopped anytime soon.

Remixes from Khidja and Rodion pick certain moods of the original, expanding its area of effect into an early/late morning rave with experimental components.
