With Wake Up Call, we wanted to combine the more emotive garage sound championed by artists such as salute, together with liquid drum & bass which we’re better known for. The instrumental came together quite quickly – we wanted to use quite classic, euphoric dance sounds to convey the desired nostalgic feeling. It was a pleasure to work with Eloise Keeble on this track virtually. Her rich, deeper vocal tone matched the vibe of the track from the very first demo she sent over. 

We hope the track invokes a sense of nostalgia in the listener, as that is the feeling that was with us throughout the writing process. Towards the end of summer, we really missed the ‘normal’ summers and generally ‘normal’ life, and that came out in the writing of the instrumental. Whilst Eloise’s lyrics represent a different kind of longing and reminiscing, they still capture the vibe of what we were going for with this track.
