Ok, I've decided to upload another edit, to give my young page a bit of momentum, among hearing reports that the days of soundcloud might be numbered, even if I never properly played this in the Dj-set it was intended for (only played it improperly in another one). I used the extended interlude of Squarepushers "Tundra4" to cram a little cut-up-Hörspiel-collage into the track. Were I prolific (or pretentious) enough to speak of something like a "trademark style", beyond simply preparing tracks before playing them, It would (or will) be this: Bringing radio and sound collage to the dancefloor, filling it with content, semantics (substance!) in a somewhat unrelenting and noncompliant fashion. (The second would be behaving like my own press agent by writing features like this). It pays homage to my love for radio (especially Momus' brilliant "Hearspool" series, which was very formative for my way of Djing), but also features bits of Franz Wrights poetry volume "Kindertotenwald", released as a CD named "There's a Light That Enters Houses with No Other House in Sight", with accompanying music by John Tilbury, Christian Fennesz and David Sylvian. This edit also features a surprising reworking of Billy Idol's "Eyes Without a Face" found in Hearspool 23 "Walkaway", but the words are mostly Franz Wright's dreary stream-of-consciousness-ramblings. "If you liked being born, you'll love dying."
Probably the bleakest thing I've ever done.
