Flava D - In The Dance

DJ Ink's Architecture recordings continues its charge through the depths of the Drum & Bass underground delivering four fresh tracks of contemporary 170 bpm futurism for the second installment of the "Street Glory" series.
Ahmad, Gremlinz and Mental Forces combine to conduct a lesson in break manipulation on "Shiva", switching key elements of recognized breaks in and out to form the main percussive bed over top of a vicious low slung half step.  Tribal sound effects and sparse tech-noire bass stabs complete the trance inducing voodoo magic being brewed.
"Infallible Drift" see's label boss DJ Ink returning to the Speed era , Bukem leaning template that originally ushered in his production career in the mid 90's.  Introspective ambient washes and melodies create a lush soundscape,  taking the listener on  the kind of blissed out early morning  journey reminiscent of a lost time in Drum & Bass history, when tunes like this used to play at massive outdoor raves as the first bits of sun rays battled with the night for supremacy.
Kobra steps up with "Turret", slowly building an infectious, melancholic riff from the far depths to the forefront of the track, twisting and morphing as it moves along, underpinned by pummeling kicks and a deep, churning bass line groove.
Loxy & Matt U, join forces on "Dictate" utilizing upbeat and often overlooked jazz breaks, layered with  Amazon bongos and a rugged chest out dub bass.  Unrecognizable voices, and Ruffige blips and bleeps  maintain the ever present spirit of Hardcore, a common theme in both producers extensive  and respected discographies.
