My music is a reflection of my personality.” This is the answer you will get when you ask Denny to describe his sound. After listening to his debut single “Jo”, you would expect him to be a guy who is witty & clever and someone who is set to push boundaries.

Born in UK & raised in Australia, Denny’s musical influences range from artists such as George Michael, Hall & Oates & George Benson to the increasingly popular genre of Bollywood. “I love the melodies from the 80’s…the hooks & the sounds…” explains Denny. However, it seems that Bollywood may be his major influence, “Coming from an Indian background, my parents were always listening to Bollywood; I grew up on it. Every song is so different and organic…I’ve learned a lot & am still learning from it.”

From a young age, Denny has always been interested in music as is evident from his varied collection. He accidentally wrote his first song while studying for his university entrance exams & explains, “I was sitting at my desk & all of a sudden this tune came into my head and I couldn’t recognize what it was…I kept repeating it and I put words to it & that’s how it all started.” It was this day that inspired him to work on his song-writing & to experiment with different producers around Australia & UK, including multi-ARIA award winning producer, Audius Mtawarira.

The journey to get here wasn’t as quick as one would have initially thought, Denny explains “I’ve worked on my art for the last 8 years and it’s been a slow and steady process…with
any form of art it can be very easy to be too engrossed in it and you have to learn when to walk away and say let’s move on to the next one.”

Denny has spent the last year in the studio with long time friend and music producer Rob Agostini developing his sound. With a clear direction for the future, this multi talented singer/songwriter and club DJ is destined for success and he’s ready for it. “I want to give people music that I enjoy and more importantly music we all can relate to…in the words of one of my favourite songs, ain’t no stopping us now, we’re on the move!”
