Next up in my free edit series is another one I've loved forever and wanted to work my magic on for ages - Ring My Bell by Anita Ward. This tune’s obviously all about the lame little boopy sound, but I love the jangly guitars and backing vocals too. Standard Funkier treatment of beefing matters somewhat up and rearranging things - I’ve given it a long and gradual build up to the vocal, messed around with the stems a bit and added some percussion and snippy hi hats to create a nearly 7 minute monster. A few years back I spent absolutely ages making a sort of garage meets dnb rework of an Ariana Grande tune. It more or less sank without a trace back then, and I think it's a solid concept so I'm giving it another chance at glory. It's had a full refresh and I'm really pleased with how much fuller, cleaner and more alive it's sounding. Lots of tongue in cheek rave cliches in here - hell, I even sampled my own Amen Break! Of course, it's entirely free, and it would mean the world to me if you could download, enjoy and share with a loved one.
