Manny Maia is a DJ with a cutting edge outlook onto underground electronic music. He has a “less is more” approach to DJ’ing, and a huge passion for collecting and playing new and old vinyl. This is reflected on his mixing style. 
Manny was born in Oportu, Portugal. Moving with his family to Reading, UK in 2002 was a huge adventure, and a good opportunity to experience new cultures and ways of life.
Learning to mix vinyl records as a young teenager is testament to his impeccable technical ability. 
Manny’s first contact with electronic music was his older brother’s collection of 80s/ 90s underground house and techno records. This acted as a doorway into a much broader, obscure and exciting world of old and new music. 

Manny’s musical influences are artists such as Rhadoo, Osunlade, Ricardo Villalobos, Thievery Corporation, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Bonobo, Priku, Tania Vulcano, Livio & Roby, Ben Klock, Zip, Craig Richards, MaW, Rick Maia, DJ Marky, Eli Verveine, Cab Drivers and many more! 

Manny joined the British Army as a Paratrooper, music was a huge escape whilst going through some of the toughest training the British Military had to offer. 
After the military whilst traveling and experiencing new sounds in Asia, the USA and Europe, he realised that his future lies in music.  Now traveling the world as a DJ and freelance Photographer, Manny is playing, building bridges and plotting with friends and artists all over the four continents. 
Having been active in the scene and having played multiple times for Unusual Suspect in Sankeys Ibiza are great steps towards a promising and exciting music career.
