I can honestly say this has been one of the very worst, bizarre, shit scary and at times wonderful years of my life where the important stuff all became so clear and much more important, and the shit stuff became obvious for what it always was…

Well I really can’t imagine anything more exciting than signalling better times ahead by spending a weekend in a field with my brothers and sisters from Sancho Panza at their annual dancing jamboree Campo Sancho!!!

The thought of being together, dancing to music, talking and hanging out for a whole weekend actually gives me the total tingles.

I love Jim and Matt. They are without a doubt two of the good guys of the music and events industry. They do everything they do with passion and for the benefit of people. They love music and their energy spreads into everything they do. Decades throwing parties at London Carnival, Glastonbury and beyond stand testament to that.

And when you play or dance at one of their events you can feel something else truly special. Something called community. Many of their people have also been with them for decades. People know each other. People love each other. The feeling is strong!

Now it’s time to dance, drink, laugh and love again.

I got so excited about the prospect of playing live again to real people in a field surrounded by passionate people that I did an exclusive mix for Sancho to celebrate life. I hope you enjoy the music and will dance with me.

This week's special guest is Martin Petersson, aka MartinMax, a DJ of immense talent who has been spinning tunes since the vinyl days of the late 80s

Originally hailing from portside Gothenberg, he moved out to Moscow more than a decade ago, playing and running clubs in the vibrant Moscow clubscene. He quickly gained traction on the local dance scene, playing at Pacha Moscow amongst others.

One of Martin’s key traits are his profound knowledge of music, which he combines with an instinctive feeling for the pulse of the dance floor. Martin’s passion are reflected in every set he makes and has secured him a growing following of dedicated Discoholics.

MartinMax spans multiple genres from House to Disco, Funk and slow jams and it's obvious that his skills have been honed to perfection over three decades.

Since 2020 he's been part of Hot To The Touch by Discoholics Anonymous which airs weekly on Prime Radio in Greece to an audience of over 300.000.

My old friend and dj colleague @vladfisun lives in Kiev and is my most reliable source of direct information when it comes to the tragic situation in the Ukraine. What he speaks about a lot, is the amount of privately organized help by volunteers in Ukraine. People help people in shitty situations. 
So Vlad and a few other Dj /club related friends formed VICTORYBEATS, a team who - with their work - support all kinds of professional organizations/volunteers in Ukraine who help the people suffering.

If you have been paying attention then you will already know that I have a wee love affair going on with Brasil. This is mainly to do with playing many times over the years at the amazing Mareh Festival. And it’s almost that time again when a bunch of loved up adventurers with stars in their eyes head towards a remote part of that great country and pay their respect to some of the best people, vibes, settings, DJs and simply the very best music around for a week celebrating love, life and all the bloody good stuff. 

Normally I would do a DJ mix after the event, but this year I am so looking forward to it that I decided to knock it out now. I also haven’t done a new DJ mix for a while as I have been coming and going, and travelling here and there so much this year. So finally I got some time in between trips and other stuff to do this one for you. 

And I can guarantee that every one of these tunes has given me the tingles over the last year. Each track takes me on a journey back to dancefloors and people in Medellin, Monterrey, NYC, Sydney, Bali, Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, Beijing, Detroit, Paris, Madrid, Tisno, Bogota, London, Dundee and so many other places in between. I am honoured to travel to the places I go to and to get the opportunity to make people dance. If I met you and we spoke and laughed even for a moment. Perhaps we did a shot or two??? Or if we connected on a dancefloor, or a rooftop, at a festival or at a beach party…then I thank you for letting me do what I love and letting me share it with you. And I hope you felt the love too. That’s what music does. It brings people together.

And for those that are planning to go to Mareh…then we still have some dancing to do!!!

Disco Deviance Mix Show 68 - The Patchouli Brothers Mix

Dicky Trisco is a DJ and music producer who lives and breathes what he does. His passion for music and desire for good times is well known. He has spent years chasing that sound and that feeling around the globe as an international DJ. For him DJing is all about people. He is addicted to the way music connects people and makes for better days. 

Dicky really broke through as a DJ and producer in the Nu Disco/Disco Revival years from around 2004. In particular, his run of DJ edit, original and remix releases alongside Balearic House hero Pete Herbert on Disco Deviance and Maxi Discs led to him becoming an increasingly in demand DJ with a busy international touring schedule. He is also rumoured to be the force behind the rather legendary Secret Squirrel vinyl only imprint. But who knows??? It’s a secret.

Since those early days, Dicky has toured constantly around Asia, Australia, Central/South America, USA, Europe and the UK sharing the music and the sound he loves. He has also become a regular at a long list of high profile festivals including the legendary Glastonbury, Electric Elephant, Mareh, Love International, Festival No 6 and many more.

Dicky is also a mainstay of the local scene in his hometown of Dundee, Scotland where he was a resident of the infamous ‘Small Town Club’ aka Reading Rooms for over a decade. At nights like Autodisco, Disco Deviance, A Night With and Non Stop, he learned his trade playing alongside many of his heroes and legendary DJs from around the world such as Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Rahaan, Jazzie B, Horse Meat Disco, Farley Jackmaster and many more.

Dicky also ran and curated the well-respected House music label Home Taping Is Killing Music for many years putting out a run of amazing releases. Home Taping broke a number of great House artists who have gone on to become household names in the scene including The Blessed Madonna, The Revenge, Nicholas, Borrowed Identity, Eddie C & Medlar amongst others.

Dicky continues to discover, produce and remix music for a number of quality imprints including Razor-N-Tape, File Under Disco, Home Taping, Barefoot Beats, Nervous Records and many more. He has also remixed major artists such as Bryan Ferry, Belle & Sebastian, L’Impératrice, Edwyn Collins (Orange Juice), Danielle Baldelli, Faze Action, The Orielles, Golden Dawn Arkestra  and Tensnake down in his basement studio.

Most recently Dicky has been creating original music alongside NYC music machine JKriv under the name Sentimental Animals for the Razor-N-Tape imprint. Their Love Vibration EP was very well received by disc jockeys around the world and has been played by the likes of Craig Charles who made it one of his Tracks of 2021 on his BBC Radio 6 Funk & Soul show.

Dicky became a resident DJ at Pikes in Ibiza in the summer of 2023 playing in every area - poolside, terrace, Freddies, bathtub - in this legendary club. 

He also kick started a monthly radio show out of Ibiza called International Sounds on OpenLab Radio where he showcases the music he discovers, makes and plays while travelling around the globe.

As a disc jockey, DT packs a little bit of everything into his sets of International Sounds and is committed to the idea that music and club nights should be all about escapism, joy and togetherness. 

As Dicky says love and dancing is what we need.
