I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that DUFFDISCO007 is the last bootleg I am going to press to wax. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoyed them but I think it's the right time to stop. (you can order the last in the series here - www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/450211-01.htm)

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

So keep an eye out for new tracks! donate whatever you feel appropriate, of course you can still download if you can't afford to donate.

When hedonism took him to the brink of self-destruction many feared it would be the last they saw of Kermit Leveridge. However, the driving force in his life - writing lyrics - kept him going through his introspective recovery and when he was finally fit enough to return, he had amassed a wealth of material aching to break out of his countless notepads. 

Coming together with forward-thinking bass-maker, Luke EVM128, they channelled Kermit’s bottled up magic through Luke’s ‘Evermean’ beats to form the uplifting, life-affirming Blind Arcade. With an accessible but edgy balearic, somewhat psychedelic hip-hop sensibility with real depth and substance, it was clear they were on to something special. 

Drug addiction can chip away at the soul, leaving people bitter in the heart. Letting all the negativity out through his pen proved incredibly cathartic for Kermit, aiding his recovery and allowing him to move forward with a positive message.

This centred approach to negativity shines through the lyrics in Blind Arcade’s 'Give It Away', brought to life by the commanding voice of London-based songstress BB.JAMES and delicately supplemented by The Reynolds and Tracey Carmen. 

First appearing on the 'Blind Arcade Meets Super Weird Substance In The Morphogenetic Field' mixtape that catalysed the beginnings of the Super Weird Substance label, Give It Away brims with the soulful warmth and spine-tingling magic that connected with people as the mixtape spread across the sound-waves last summer and paved the way for the autumn ‘Happenings’ that swept across the UK.

Given a new lease of life with three brand new re-recorded versions to fit the label’s current direction, 'Give It Away' returns in the form of a sumptuous, slow-burning club dub, a deep and driving radio mix keeping the spirit of the original and a radio-friendly mellow vocal mix.

With their sights on an forthcoming album release through Super Weird Substance in 2016, Blind Arcade have expanded on the success of last year’s mixtape with more of the same serendipitous alchemy and a new and improved live show featuring Black Grape’s current backing band, which they rolled out at Festival Number 6 in Portmeirion - a highlight of a truly sensational twelve hour Super Weird Happening.

Written by Kermit Leveridge and EVM128, produced by Greg Wilson and mixed by Greg and Derek Kaye, the new versions of Give It Away feature Kieran O’Malley on strings, Ché Wilson on guitar and Gareth ‘Misterlong’ Bailey, Craig Crofton and Gary Alesbrook aka The Longhorns on brass - trombone, tenor sax and trumpet respectively.

This ones all about the rhythm track overdubs and subtle filtering. Sometimes an edit needs a very light touch and with a track so perfect this is certainly the case here.

Dicky Trisco is a DJ and music producer who lives and breathes what he does. His passion for music and desire for good times is well known. He has spent years chasing that sound and that feeling around the globe as an international DJ. For him DJing is all about people. He is addicted to the way music connects people and makes for better days. 

Dicky really broke through as a DJ and producer in the Nu Disco/Disco Revival years from around 2004. In particular, his run of DJ edit, original and remix releases alongside Balearic House hero Pete Herbert on Disco Deviance and Maxi Discs led to him becoming an increasingly in demand DJ with a busy international touring schedule. He is also rumoured to be the force behind the rather legendary Secret Squirrel vinyl only imprint. But who knows??? It’s a secret.

Since those early days, Dicky has toured constantly around Asia, Australia, Central/South America, USA, Europe and the UK sharing the music and the sound he loves. He has also become a regular at a long list of high profile festivals including the legendary Glastonbury, Electric Elephant, Mareh, Love International, Festival No 6 and many more.

Dicky is also a mainstay of the local scene in his hometown of Dundee, Scotland where he was a resident of the infamous ‘Small Town Club’ aka Reading Rooms for over a decade. At nights like Autodisco, Disco Deviance, A Night With and Non Stop, he learned his trade playing alongside many of his heroes and legendary DJs from around the world such as Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Rahaan, Jazzie B, Horse Meat Disco, Farley Jackmaster and many more.

Dicky also ran and curated the well-respected House music label Home Taping Is Killing Music for many years putting out a run of amazing releases. Home Taping broke a number of great House artists who have gone on to become household names in the scene including The Blessed Madonna, The Revenge, Nicholas, Borrowed Identity, Eddie C & Medlar amongst others.

Dicky continues to discover, produce and remix music for a number of quality imprints including Razor-N-Tape, File Under Disco, Home Taping, Barefoot Beats, Nervous Records and many more. He has also remixed major artists such as Bryan Ferry, Belle & Sebastian, L’Impératrice, Edwyn Collins (Orange Juice), Danielle Baldelli, Faze Action, The Orielles, Golden Dawn Arkestra  and Tensnake down in his basement studio.

Most recently Dicky has been creating original music alongside NYC music machine JKriv under the name Sentimental Animals for the Razor-N-Tape imprint. Their Love Vibration EP was very well received by disc jockeys around the world and has been played by the likes of Craig Charles who made it one of his Tracks of 2021 on his BBC Radio 6 Funk & Soul show.

Dicky became a resident DJ at Pikes in Ibiza in the summer of 2023 playing in every area - poolside, terrace, Freddies, bathtub - in this legendary club. 

He also kick started a monthly radio show out of Ibiza called International Sounds on OpenLab Radio where he showcases the music he discovers, makes and plays while travelling around the globe.

As a disc jockey, DT packs a little bit of everything into his sets of International Sounds and is committed to the idea that music and club nights should be all about escapism, joy and togetherness. 

As Dicky says love and dancing is what we need.
