We welcome Erdi Irmak for the ninety-second edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series.  

Erdi Irmak, hailing from the historic city of Istanbul, Turkey, is synonymous with deep, emotive electronic music. His journey into the world of music began at a young age, inspired by his cousin's love for electronic sounds. By high school, Erdi had already begun experimenting with production, setting the stage for a career that would eventually see him releasing his first track in 2011. The intricate cultural fabric of Istanbul, a city that seamlessly blends the East and West, is reflected in the eclectic and organic nature of his music.

Erdi initially made his mark within the Progressive House scene, but his sound has since evolved. By 2017, he had embraced the Organic House genre, a style that perfectly encapsulates his love for earthy, melodic, and deeply textured music. Alongside Organic House, his repertoire has expanded to Electronica, Ambient, and Lofi, highlighting his multifaceted talent and eagerness to explore uncharted musical territories. This combination of styles forms the fundamental pillars of his musical ideology, which has seen him rise to the higher echelons of the electronic music scene. Each set he crafts is a journey, with his Organic House mixes offering listeners a warm and immersive experience.

Despite not playing live as often as he would like, Erdi’s influence within the electronic music community is undeniable. His admiration for industry legends like Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, coupled with the artistic inspiration he draws from Bonobo and Ólafur Arnalds, has shaped his signature sound. Erdi’s recent work includes a collaborative 'Wild & Free EP' with Flowers on Monday, on The Soundgarden, which he describes as one of his most enjoyable projects. Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Podcast Series!

We are kicking off 2021 with an old friend of ours: Valeron

Generally recognized as the top DJ on the island of Mykonos, Valeron is definitely one of the longest standing and most omnipresent figures of the ever-shifting local music scene.

Soon after relocating to Mykonos, he became a producer releasing tracks that helped register his name in the Deep House and Electronic genre. This carried him through to becoming a founder of the Bercana Music label and releasing 2 personal albums already “Amare” & ‘’Aigaio’’. Valeron’s albums introduce a unique combination of traditional Greek instruments and Electronic beats.

Every Saturday at Scorpios Mykonos Valeron leads ‘’Scorpios World’’ where he performs live alongside Greek musicians of instruments such as the clarinet, violin, Ney,Bouzouki, Saz, Oud,Santur and many more. With lots of originals and remixes that had climb on top of Beatport charts, on May 2019 he will release his third personal album.

HOVR is a producer and DJ from Berlin. Raised by a cellist alongside the piano and other instruments, it was only a question of time until he became a professional music producer. He quickly established himself in Berlin's colorful scene and started tours around the world that are showcasing his unique, genre-bending groove. 

Closing HOVRs set is "Radioactive", which is part of a very beautiful upcoming release.

HOVR [Journey Series]

Heavily influenced since childhood by legendary electronic music bands such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Lamb, Massive Attack, Underworld, Aphex Twin, Orbital, Hybrid, Way Out West, Global Communication and then pioneers such as Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, Danny Tenaglia, Satoshi Tomiie, Frankie Knuckles, Kerri Chandler, Larry Heard a.k.a. Mr. Fingers, Josh Wink, Kevin Saunderson to name but a few... I felt true attraction, discovered and ultimately fell completely in love with the DJ-craft or as I like to call it "the art of musical storytelling". It's been almost 25 years since this love runs through my veins and keeps growing as it's been fuelled by the incomparable feeling of sharing those inner experiences with like-minded people and fellow music lovers.

About my work – attention to detail in order to attain perfection in my studio mixes and live sets. I'm always looking for innovation and diversity. Trying to make a difference and leave my mark by always presenting something new, perceived as "outside the box", something that doesn't necessarily appeals to the masses but for those who share a deeper understanding and appreciation for the music in its richness. That is why my sets combine multiple flavors of carefully chosen underground electronic sound. Perfectionism concerning mix and music selection has always been a must and it can be easily sensed in my work, particularly when it comes to my studio projects. In other words, by following the latest currants of the vast field of my beloved electronic music while also by always recalling past moments of its long history that lead me to what I am presently, my focus goes to extracting the best material and putting it into a memorable musical trip that comes from the heart and shouldn't let you stay indifferent...
