Like many relationships, mine and Jo’s started at work and I think the fact that we were always holding hands soon made our feelings pretty clear to everyone.  Holding hands has always felt special to us and through every life event, good or bad, our relationship has been strengthened by having this powerful physical connection.

So how else would you celebrate 30 years of marriage other than having a full size bronze statue of yourselves holding hands?  Sounds relatively straightforward but, sadly,  this eventually proved to be a little optimistic, given that it involved not only ourselves but one artist (who was as mad as a hatter), an assistant (who had never done the procedure before), three buckets, one stick, a wooden stool, something called alginate (the stuff dentists use to cast teeth), bronze (naturally), one foundry (which burned down, necessitating finding another – this actually did happen) foundry workers (number unspecified) and someone to organise the whole creation (that would be me).  Piece of cake.

Anyway, as you can see from the cover pic, it was finally completed in time for our anniversary and now sits a couple of feet away from my chair, a constant reminder of the wonderful life Jo and I have had together.  This love song tells that story – the two of us holding hands as we always have done and always will.

Hans’ interpretation, arrangement and recording of such a personal song is simply brilliant, capturing as it does every nuance with each simply perfect note.  Working alongside him is always such a complete pleasure.  If you want to get full value from his astounding work, I’d recommend using headphones.

New Life In My Hometown

I still reminisce about the 1970s. As a teenager I liked the special sound of the Glitter Band ( ... we ignore the 'leader of the gang' for probably well-known reasons). Great percussion, metallic guitar sounds, fat saxphone and a cool HEY :-). So let's get together again and listen to the Home Rock Star.

And I'm celebrating a little anniversary with this song: It is my eightieth track on Soundcloud in 4 incredible years. A good opportunity to once again thank all listeners, followers and collab friends for the creative cooperation, the nice feedback and the great support. The soundcloud community is the nicest social media community on the net. Musicians are just super nice people who respect each other. Thank you so much kind people from all over the world.
