Der Sommer scheint kein Ende zu nehmen, aber wir stecken schon in der Planung für die kälteren Jahresstunden und auch fürs kommende Jahr. Zunächst aber einmal stellen wir euch unseren 121. Teilnehmer in unserem Karussell vor - Benni Mendoza!

"No Genre, Just Music"
Nach diesem Motto versucht Benni in seinen Sets unterschiedliche Musikrichtugnen miteinander zu verbinden.
Seine Liebe zur Musik entstand durch den Besuch von vielen Hip-Hop/Rap Konzerten, sowie der Leidenschaft zum Schallplatten sammeln und natürlich auch auflegen.
Mittlerweile in Frankfurt beheimatet und musikalisch stark beeinflusst durch das Robert Johnson in Offenbach, hat sich Benni´s Musiksammlung im Bereich House & Disco immer weiterentwickelt.
Nach einigen kleinen Auftritten in verschiedenen Bars in Nürnberg, Gießen und Frankfurt, durfte Benni Mendoza auf dem Tellerrand Festival im Kreis Nürnberg das Closing auf der Bühne des Laissez-faire e.V spielen.
Auch die Aufnahme des Sets fand im Rahmen des "Laissez-Sunday" am 10.09.2023 in der "Villa-Flaire" (eine Kultur- und Begegnungsstätte) statt.
Und als ob das noch nicht genug gewesen wäre hat er dieses Jahr mitgeholfen das "Is mir Schnuppe" - Festival auf die Beine zu stellen, gemeinsam mit vielen lieben Menschen und auch Igeln ;)

To say a track like this can make a career, really isn’t the platitude you think. It was certainly career-defining, but came at just the right time after years of hard work. Coming up to three decades at the pinnacle of the industry goes to show how far removed from the idea of the one-trick pony Criss Source truly is. His legacy spans multiple genres and many high performing labels, including Harthouse, Parquet and Beat Boutique

Nearly 30 years of soundtracking dancefloors across the world, and building a back catalogue arsenal of club bombs to rival any of his peers. Originally released in December of 2004, Hug’s N Kisses became one of the most played tracks for the next 4 years. A true club anthem supported by everyone from DJ Hell and Carl Cox right through to John Digweed and Nick Warren. Presented here with fresh remixes for 2025 by Peter Makto and Riko & Gugga, new life is injected into one of clubland's most enduring moments.

Peter Makto’s mix opens innocently enough, building tension over the first half of the track, steadily adding percussion and deep bass and muted arps. Everything unleashes in the main break, filters open the energy turns up to 11 and the dancefloor explodes in melody, and joyous excitement.

Riko & Gugga hit the ground running with a Bladerunner-esque bass and galloping percussion before acid shots and crazy psy-trance fx drive the floor wild. Aimed squarely at the peak-time, this is one secret weapon you deploy with great care. Once you set this one off theres no going back!

This one came up by chance. I was quite high in the studio on a Sunday night, fell in love with this Dire Straits tune, picked an opener and pressed recording.
Actually I am the opposite of a rock fan but here is an hour of classic and funky rock edits I love and I am sure you will love too. Suitable for any situation. From Pink Floyd to Krautrock and of course an edit of Black Sabbath´s Planet Caravan :D
