Nick Scofield is starting to craft a sound of his own. Centered around a backbone of sturdy grooves, he explores realms of melodies both retro and futuristic. With a pair of appearances on our Tales of Romance series, sandwiched between a serene single on Eleatics, Scofield has built a hearty foundation in the early stages of his journey. Signifying a major moment in his artistic endeavours, we are thrilled to host his first full EP on the imprint - Highway 1.

The title track opens electro stabs, resting atop a fruitful blend of punchy kicks and rhythmic percussion. Oldschool guitar riffs enter the fold as we set off on an ever-evolving production. With energy reaching vivacious levels, he offers a pristine dancefloor moment, before firing us right back into the interplanetary groove.

'The music project Na'é emerged out of the boredom and quietness that came with the lockdowns in late 2020 and the need to bring musical ideas into reality. By weaving sound recordings from everyday life, violin, accordion, piano, vocals and of course electronic production in Ableton Live, Na’é creates smooth electronic pieces which are suitable both for dancing and studying. As a compulsive backpacker and anthropology graduate, the musical genres collected during her travels can definitely be heard in her music. Na’é’s first EP Wave Motion was released independently in March 2021. From then until July of that year she produced her 9-track album Anima which will be released under the Music.art.ppl label in 2022.'

His birthplace in the Rocky Mountain Foothills of Canada surrounded him with vistas of unending grasslands, deep forests, and majestic mountain peaks, imbuing him with both fear and wonder. It’s his unabashed curiosity of the unknown that drives him; indeed, his songs will always carry that reckless spirit of adventure. Mystical soundscapes, intimate melodies, and thunderous percussion reign supreme in his world, reflecting the awe-inspiring scenery he grew up in.
