Cold Comfort is a one man noise rock machine from the mind of North West musician Ben Forrester. A strong component within the DIY scene for a number of years, Ben is known for fronting rock bands Bad Grammar, GUG and more recently under the moniker of Peaks. Having started the project in 2021, Ben has already unleashed threes albums aswell as a truck load of singles and EP’s. Taking a DIY approach to writing, recording and touring; Cold Comfort is a cathartic outlet of rage, love and creativity.

I have played drums since i was 14, and like to record and engineer music from the point of view of the drummer. Capturing a drum sound is my favorite part about recording and I firmly believe if you don't have a good drum sound, you don't have a good sound over all. This is not to say I am unsympathetic towards the other elements, I just know drums and I know my mic locker. 

Mainly interested in recording more abstract, experimental and avant garde music, while I believe I can give an edge to the more traditional sounding songs.

Joyce started as a solo project by Jimmy Watkins (Future of the Left / The Vega Bodegas), but quickly became a band.

Joyce finished recording their debut album recently and it features Gwen from Adwaith, Thom Edward from God Damn, Phil Thornalley from The Cure and Joe from Big Special.

When Jimmy isn't writing music as Joyce, he's busy being a Running Punk.
