Silence & Strength is a conceptual music project inspired by the occult, mystic, alchemical and esoteric themes. Its music is rooted in magic and ritual, creating a dark and otherworldly atmosphere, the sound is carefully composed, eliciting the inevitable comparisons with soundtrack music. Interfusing noise, drone, glitch and experimental dark ambient Silence & Strength creates soundscapes in a highly structured and ritualistic way.

The Hebner debuted in 1995 with the primitive, bracing Monster compact cassette record "Kardiogramma," featuring their first hit, "Sausage." It was their only full-length effort to feature Russian-born vocalist Jos (Stas) Molchanoff. The 1990 release "Soundtracks," a collection of live performance recordings, introduced English-speaking singer Andrew Tutunin and featured J. Shayer and Alan Derman on guitars, and B. "Mahony" Litwar on drums, marking the start of the group's best-known compositions.

When pianist and vocalist Alex Suris joined the group in 1997, Hebner changed their name to Die Hebner and continued developing the psychedelic theme initiated by Andrew Tutunin (R.I.P.). With the 1999 record "Don't Touch My Face," Die Hebner hit their visionary stride, shedding the constraints of pop forms and structures to explore long improvisations, angular rhythms, and experimental textures.

The 2005 comeback refined this approach, incorporating an increasingly punk-like sensibility into the EP "Plant Establishment." Recorded the following year as Die Hebner's swan song, it ventured even further into minimalist, almost ambient territory. Shortly after, Die Hebner returned to more complex and abrasive ground, introducing punk rhythms and revisiting their old 1997 composition "Situation." The 2005 release "Unlimited Edition" and the 1997 album "Old Style Joint" proved equally restless, drawing on a wide range of psycho-punk music.
