Purple Reign hails from my neighborhood of South Philadelphia.  They recorded 2 other singles for Go-Rilla/Private Stock and one for RCA.  This one was released as Part I and Part II but they were actually just a radio mix and an extended mix both done by Anita Wexler.  I extended the tune to go around twice and fixed a few of the edits I didn't care for in the original mix.  File Under 45-0nly-Disco

In seiner Heimat Großbritannien ist Shootingstar Tom Odell bereits in der Riege der ganz großen Singer/Songwriter angekommen - seine Ballade "Another Love" erreichte auf Anhieb die Top Ten der UK Single Charts und sein Debütalbum "Long Way Down" schoss sensationell von null auf eins der britischen Verkaufshitliste. Zuvor war der 22-jährige Sänger und Pianist mit dem BRITs' Critics Choice Award ausgezeichnet worden, den er aus den Händen von Vorjahres-Preisträgerin Emeli Sandé entgegen nehmen konnte.

Hierzulande erhielt Odell Karriere-Starthilfe vom Telekommunikations-Riesen Telekom Deutschland. "Another Love" war die Kampagnen-Musik für den TV-, und Online-Spot des Unternehmens, der ab Ende Mai überall zu sehen war. Die Folge: "Another Love" kletterte in den deutschen Charts bis auf Platz elf, rangiert
seit 22 Wochen in der Media Control Hitliste, verkaufte sich bislang mehr als 150.000 Mal und erreichte damit Goldstatus! In den Airplaycharts hält sich die wunderbare Ballade bereits seit 34 (!) Wochen. Das Album "Long Way Down" schoss auf Platz siebzehn in die deutschen Charts und war zehn Wochen in den Top 100 gelistet. Jüngst begeisterte der junge Brite die Zuschauer des SWR3 "New Pop" Festivals in Baden-Baden und beim NDR2 "Soundcheck Neue Musik" Festival in Göttingen.

Nun liegt der Song in einem schicken Remix des deutschen DJs Zwette vor, der den Song zufällig im Radio gehört hatte. Der aufstrebende Produzent, ein alter DJ-Hase im Clubzirkus Mitteldeutschlands, zauberte aus dem romantischen Slowie eine tanzbare Clubversion unter Verwendung von Odells wunderbaren Vocals, dem unverwechselbarem Klaviersound und dezenten Beats.

Brother In Arms is crafting the soundtrack to your next evening and you don't even know it yet. A natural collaboration between San Francisco-based friends/DJs/Producers J Boogie and Deejay Theory, the well-seasoned duo come loaded with vibes ready to light up nightclubs, beachfronts and fireplaces in 2014. Blending equal parts slowed house, deep disco, modern and classic R&B, their sound is something like Grace Jones making love to Todd Terje — and we're not mad at that.

BIA saw their first endeavors on a limited edition 12" via Whiskey Disco, as well as official remixes on Heavy Roc for DJ Equal, and Win Music for Eric Sharp ft. Anna Lunoe. Debut performances as a DJ duo have included support for Oliver, Classixx, Moon Boots, Poolside, Jimmy Edgar, B Bravo, Danny Daze and more. 

Their edits have quickly caught the attention of DJs worldwide, with plays on BBC Radio 1, KCRW, KEXP and WFMU. Free monthly downloads have been getting support from Okayfuture, Do Androids Dance, Karmaloop, Rolling Tuff, Kick Kick Snare and Hype Machine. 

Previous works can be heard on David Heartbreak's acclaimed "Moombahsoul" compilations, and regular DJ sets can be enjoyed at their resident "Night Moves" party with partner Papa Lu at Monarch in San Francisco.

Noc Boots, the ever soulful bootleg, edit and remix series run by NYC's own Cloak Dagger has returned with yet another lusty installment, Synonymous with the sensuous compilation, Noc Boots 2 brings that tropical disco infused heat just in time for the celestial spring into summer. Featuring the reunited maestro collabo of Cloak Dagger and Basement Love and their lusty new joint "Take Me There". Brother in Arms, the bay area alliance of J Boogie and Deejay Theory with their thumping summer anthem "Jamaican Gyal". Fast rising Mexican producer BRONX with the sensual and alluring "Sundays" capped off with the sentimental heater "Eighty Seven" by UK Benny & Gain co-conspirator Emil Rottmayer. The original version of the song that Margaret Reynolds would soon burn the clubs up with in 1979. Her version was particularly big in San Francisco, where it was treated to a remix in 1982 thanks to the boys at Moby Dick records, forever etching it as an anthem in their city's clubs. Ace Spectrum released the blueprint in 1975, recording the music for the track in Philadelphia at Sigma Sound. I put this edit together to play at GO Bang! in SF this last summer. I chopped up the flow of what was released and Paul Goodyear locked it in at a steady 118.

Hands down, this is one of my favorite records of all time. If I could live inside this record for a period of time, I would. This is a 45 only jam that was issued a few times, at varying lengths, and every version is quite hard to find. This edit was loving done from the 45 I hunted for years. It was longest version issued with those fantastic strings spotlighted at the end. Smooth disco at its finest!! A special thanks to my dear friend Paul Goodyear for the EQ and making this a steady 120 BPM for you to easily mix it. Enjoy!!

For this release, Cafe 432 have teamed up with award winning Actor/Singer Lonyo, whose chart smash 'Summer of Love' reached the UK top 10 in 2000 and became a huge club anthem.  Lonyo delivers a super smooth vocal performance and captures the essence of the original, whilst Cafe 432 bring the classy musical vibe and lift the tempo into a huge dance floor filler.
