Matt Caines continues to explore the power of musical platforms by pushing cultural exchanges of new sounds. With an initiative to connect purpose and place, in 2018, Matt moved to Tulum and where he became the managing partner and a co-founder of Art With Me, Tulum’s first large scale arts & cultural festival. Art With Me was a huge success in attracting local emerging and international artist, celebrating the creative arts, inspiring guests to live their best lives, while giving back to the community.

"This is a recording that was captured from an impromptu DJ set at Ahau Tulum, on Saturday April 24th, 2021, after a live performance from Rico Loop just finished. The sun was setting on the beach and the energy was beautiful - a crowd of friends and family filled with smiles and happiness. It reminded me of a sunset you would have found on another playa, just this was full of sand instead of dust. My musical selection reflects that -  a throwback to those times and great memories. 

To be honest, this was not the mix I was planning on submitting. I spent a week organizing music and tracks to tell a beautiful story, but I guess Tulum and the universe had something different in mind. For some unexplained and unusual reason the recordings of the mix continued to have audio interference separate times, yet 2 other records done on the same recorder came out perfectly. 

The inspiration for this mix is that and simple - to be present and enjoy the moment instead of overthinking things. I hope you enjoy and look forward to when we can all connect together again in person. Thank you for listening."
