Minor Notes presents 'Interesnye Oschuscheniya'. The mysterious artist with the strange name from Moscow debuts on the label this September! Revnost EP perfectly fits for the start of this melancholic and beautiful season.

MNRD006 was created as a reimagining of the super freaky sound of Russian "Perestroika" popular music and its legacy. Sampling old cassettes in not more than G+ condition from family archives and personal digs, Interesnye Oschuscheniya developed his own style, which is gravitating to house music with a lo-fi filter on it. It is very hard to identify the original tracks where these samples came from, so you can hear only recycled versions in scenes by this unique artist himself. But for a true diggers we can say that you should check libraries of "СОЮЗ" pop label compilations, "Трепанация Ч-Рэпа" mixtapes and 7" vinyl from "Кругозор" magazine issues through the years.

Besides 4 tracks of solid deep and lo-fi influenced house music here you can find a brilliant example of how eclectic Interesnye Oschuscheniya can be. Just try "Eto Prosto Veter" to enter the Jungle side of Minor Notes tastes.

After three years of deep work, Stas Karpenkov's debut album is released on Gost Zvuk in the form of an abstract, free-form study. The album is saturated with the Black Sea breeze and the natural beauty of the peninsula, a land associated with the life of the author. It’s a musical representation of its surrounding reliefs, an ode to the cyclicity of the waves, and a journey through soundscapes. These manifestations of maritime romance also include the experience of co-producing with Terrence Dixon and Kuzma Palkin on a couple of tracks that play an important role in the idea of the record.

Following up her streak of vibrant singles, rising star Vika Kuchak brings us her debut album "Stels". Having spent her teenage years in Magnitogorsk, Ural, the local gloomy geography has had a profound effect on her music.

The unique sensibility of the artist’s tape-fi house and leftfield pop is now materialised into one hour of deep beauty that provides welcome confirmation to her hidden talents. Opening things up with the moody Nocow and DJ Designer collaboration “На танцполе (On the dancefloor)”, Kuchak sets the tone for the rest of the album with its elegiac, sensual atmosphere. Each track's internal ambience has the paradoxical effect of creating an euphoric, emotional centre via a melancholic meandering of sound, smudging her soundscape into a swirling bliss of hauntological house music.

There's certainly intimacy and nostalgia; “Stels” is dedicated to childhood flashbacks full of anarchic, loose, and sometimes traumatised moments. Kuchak on “Stels” melted her sonic introspection into the joyous memoradelia, spinning the ghosts of low-brow dance music favourites of her pre-adolescent age with the recent high-concept drone and ambient obsessions. In her hands, sound reinterpretations of cultural and personal memories become portals to perceiving emotionally resonant dancefloor rhythms and gentleness of avant pop music.

"Stels. There's no agenda here. It's about missing the chaotic, free, sometimes violent space of childhood. The flickering episodes when it was good and the music that was playing at that moment. Basically, nothing new. Plus - the desire that there was music similar to the bastard child of Dr. Alban or Faithless and Biosphere mixed with the notorious low-fi house.
But in the end, it turned out the way it did. I don't know what I was thinking..." Но получилось в итоге, что получилось. Мало ли что я там думала...."

Taking inspiration from good old New Beat and early rave we get a new driving mini album from Paul called "Intuitive Driving".

"As a simple fact, this release probably has the longest history of creation. I mean compared to my other work. And I don't really remember all the details anymore. There's been a lot of changes in sound and titles. But maybe I wanted to create something like a soundtrack to an old skool action film or sci-fi. In moments I paid attention to New Beat and in general to early rave scene.
Thanks to the guys from Spazio for trusting me and realising my ideas".
