In physical cosmology and astronomy, dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy which permeates all of space and tends to accelerate the expansion of the universe.[1] Dark energy is the most accepted hypothesis to explain the observations since the 1990s indicating that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate. According to the Planck mission team, and based on the standard model of cosmology, on a mass–energy equivalence basis, the universe contains 26.8% dark matter, 68.3% dark energy (for a total of 95.1%) and 4.9% ordinary matter.[2][3][4][5] Again on a mass–energy equivalence basis, the density of dark energy (1.67 × 10−27 kg/m3) is very low: in the solar system, it is estimated only 6 tons of dark energy would be found within the radius of Pluto's orbit. However, it comes to dominate the mass–energy of the universe because it is uniform across space.[6]

Two proposed forms for dark energy are the cosmological constant, a constant energy density filling space homogeneously,[7] and scalar fields such as quintessence or moduli, dynamic quantities whose energy density can vary in time and space. Contributions from scalar fields that are constant in space are usually also included in the cosmological constant. The cosmological constant can be formulated to be equivalent to vacuum energy. Scalar fields that do change in space can be difficult to distinguish from a cosmological constant because the change may be extremely slow.

High-precision measurements of the expansion of the universe are required to understand how the expansion rate changes over time. In general relativity, the evolution of the expansion rate is parameterized by the cosmological equation of state (the relationship between temperature, pressure, and combined matter, energy, and vacuum energy density for any region of space). Measuring the equation of state for dark energy is one of the biggest efforts in observational cosmology today.

Adding the cosmological constant to cosmology's standard FLRW metric leads to the Lambda-CDM model, which has been referred to as the "standard model" of cosmology because of its precise agreement with observations. Dark energy has been used as a crucial ingredient in a recent attempt to formulate a cyclic model for the universe

Andres makes his full debut with Immerse / Handmade cleverly noding to the dark side. Andres has a proven track record of successful releases with FLASH Recordings  , Kaputt  and  Elevate and continues to excite us with his depth of production and sharp tech edge . Andres strart this ep with HANDMADE barking chords and a perfect rolling build up tension, reaching progressively to the peak. Andres utilises each element of the track to devastating effect creating a deep, evolving techno monster here . IMMERSE start us off with a raw low bass before a hypnotizing high piched synth stab takes action is laced with discordant riffs and a distinct detuned stab enhancing the haunted atmospherics with effect clap dark and stabbed chops indulge you to follow the rhythm while spread closed hithats play graciously all elements together cavernous bass and marching drums set the tone while a warm tech synth fills in and out. Echoing notes knit a serious groove and show us Andres acute eye to production detail.

In addition to the new forthcoming ‘PLAY! 04 Live in Melbourne’ release, Oliver Huntemann is also releasing an EP comprising two dark tracks that are awash with his unique musical stamp.

The last six months have been fantastic for Oliver. His concept album ‘Paranoia’ demonstrated a new diversity in his creative output, and provided fans with a collection of songs that were equally suited to home-listening and club soundsystems. Similarly, the new EP continues to deliver on quality, and serves up two productions influenced by his time down under.

On the A side is Tasmanian Tiger, a pulsating, warbling, synth driven track whose breakdown gives way to a teasing peak-climbing journey before the track’s mesmorising crescendo. A track that is certain to be used by headliners in peak time slots in the coming months.

Side B is ‘Melbourne’, which also features on CD1 of the new ‘PLAY!’ compilation. It involves dark, deep and driving drum patterns, but also synths that give off the intensity and warmth of a hot sunny day. Hefty amount of heads-down hands-up moments throughout this one.

Oliver is one of the few revered producers in the scene who is unrivalled in his ability to construct deceptively intricate yet powerful songs.This is illustrated by the fact that he has remixed the likes of Underworld, the Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode.
