Inspired by the sounds of the ‘90s, his versatile sets blend genres such as Dub, Detroit and Hypnotic Techno, which combined with his fast tempo and continuous groove, create a perfect atmosphere on the dance floor.

He has been at the forefront of the underground electronic scene in Buenos Aires, being a resident in several parties for many years, which have lead to him being showcased at the best Techno clubs of the country, sharing gigs with artists such as Tadeo, Jonas Kopp, Seph and Andres Zacco.

He’s managed to edit several of his productions on labels such as Subsist, Detox Electronics, Solemne Records and Al3 Movement, and due to his continuous efforts he has been supported by artists such as Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Jeroen Search, Zenker Brothers, Tripeo, Subradeon, Jon Hester, Pushmann, Vil, Yant, El Choop, OHM, Hertz Collision and many others. 

He is now focused on honing his production skills and preparing new releases, all whilst still doing podcasts for great channels like Artaphine, Frenzy, Ceremonie, Obscene, Duplicity and several more.

Being in the scene for several years, he is resident at Dublin’s subject events series that are regularly taking place at the two best venues in town District 8 and Index.
When it comes to productions he is well known for his releases on labels like Fiedel’s Fiedeltwo or philippe petite's Knotweed Records.

September’s edition is here and on this episode I am extremely grateful to welcome, Bulgarian artist Ruben Ganev onto the show.

Ruben first caught my attention with his incredible self release on his own Mould Audio imprint. Since he has continued to present his sound in a way that’s unique and outstanding to say the least. 

Based on Sofia, Bulgaria where he also hold his “СКИТНИК” events alongside fellow artists from his scene. Speaking with Ruben tonight we find out more about his musical background and how he structures his workflow in the studio. Plus a little insight into the next release on his label which is a LP from the man himself.

Mode_1 joins for DifferentSound Podcast #090.

Mode_1 is a Dublin based Dj holding residencies at Subject Dublin, District 8, Index and featuring regularly at festivals such as Life Festival, Electric Picnic and Boxed Off. Having been a resident at Subject for the past 7 years, it has allowed him to rub shoulders with some of the best in the business, playing alongside the likes of  Ben Klock, Robert Hood, Dave Clarke to name but a few. At the start of 2018 he had one his tracks “ OÍche” feature on Berghain resident Fiedel’s Double Mixpack EP  named Appendix, which also had tracks  featured from Jay Clarke, Ron Albrecht, Noncompliant and Philippe Petit. In January 2019 he contributed his track “Twenty7”, alongside producers Tinfoil, Hybrasil and Moduse to commemorate the closure of the infamous District 8. March of that year saw his first debut E.P “Final Approach” on French label Knotweed. Later in the year he featured his track “Return” on Fiedel’s new imprint Super Sound Tools. 2020 has seen Mode_1 back on Knotweed with his EP “Mainframe”  and on Fiedel’s label FiedelTwo with ‘4x4 Series Pt1’ EP.  He was featured on Truncate’s ‘Missing’ remix compilation, with support from Rodhad, Slam and DVS1 as well as releasing his Pusher EP legendary label Naked Lunch Records. 2021 saw him release his first self release M1M_001, which is a collection of old and new material as well as his third release on Knotweed Records with his EP ‘Movements’ which has been getting heavy support from likes of Freddy K, Brendon Moeller, Kwartz and Yant to name just a few.

30drop joins for DifferentSound Podcast #091.

In his formative years, the artist responsible for 30drop discovered new synthetic and electronic sounds that would later influence his work. From the year 1996, his activity as a DJ powered his link with music, focused on Detroit Techno and Techno sounds that held the transgressive references of Birmingham, UK. These impressions saw 30drop magnetise toward an industrial, experimental, noise-based sound, particularly in the mid-2000s. After a creative pause, 2014 brought his new project, ‘30drop’, at this time his label 30D Records of which he is the Manager and joint  A&R with Angel Molina, was also born.
