Cisco was originally meant to play for us in August 2021 but Covid put a stop to that; thankfully we were able to fulfil our goal of having him to play for us and it couldn't have gone any better in our honest opinion.

Up this week with a massive two hours of 909 kick-fuelled punishment and bleeps-splashed sonic enigma, leading British techno trader and Modwerks chief operator Ø [Phase] fires off the goodies in spectacular, unrelenting fashion. Known for his brutalist compositions that merge the precision of chiselled drum programming with deep-end, otherworldly abstraction, Ø [Phase] gets the sci-fi-informed vibes pouring down in torrents. A continuously morphing kaleidoscope of sound blazing with intense acid flashes and eschatologic cavalcades, this powerhouse mix most certainly encompasses all the distinct flavours that make Ø [Phase] so prodigiously singular.

Originally from the south of Spain, the passionate artist started her musical journey in Barcelona by age 18. Her style moved forward strongly and independently when eventually crossing paths and partnering up with Angioma for Room Lab’s streaming venues. X Concept by Room Trax promoted parties around the city. With regular gigs in Berghain, Vault Session to name a few.

Credited as being one of the figureheads of the globally influential Swedish Techno scene. Lekebusch's standing as a studio scientist and production authority is well documented. He has been a member of many groups and borne many pseudonyms over the course of his illustrious career.

About Matthias (Tonetex)
Tonetex represents an uncompromising, technoid sound influenced by the raw textures of industrial and the analog aesthetics of the early era. Dedicated to underground techno since 1999, his style is direct, rhythmic, and intense—a pure distillation of the musical essence he has refined over two decades.

Musical Journey and Style
His musical career began in 1999 in Thuringia, Germany, as a hobby DJ with a deep passion for vinyl. His regular forays into record stores laid the foundation for his extensive sound library and his deep understanding of the culture.

Behind the decks, he always pushed dark, driving techno. Nevertheless, his musical openness was evident in the occasional integration of house and drum & bass into his sets. Driven by the DIY mentality of the scene, he organized and hosted small parties of his own with friends. These early experiences shaped his uncompromising attitude toward techno. Over time, he switched to timecode vinyl, bridging the gap between the warmth and tactile feel of the analog format and the precision of digital control.

Production and Sound
The desire to produce his own sound was present from an early age. This became a reality during the coronavirus pandemic: With the support of the platform Sinee, he began creating his own tracks. Although his initial productions weren't genre-specific, he quickly found his sonic home. Today, he is primarily rooted in techno and atmospheric dub techno, where he can best develop his dark and profound aesthetic.
