We welcome Decoder to the Bomphcast mix series with a beautifully conceived sci-fi inspired mix. 

This episode starts with an interview with Decoder where we discuss the current state of techno, staying true to your sound and how he blends ideas of Hinduism and breathing with music.

The young Texan has been a long-time friend of the podcast, having released his Falling Out EP on Bomphcast Audio back in September 2021.

Kaiser, techno DJ / producer and label owner (K S R) from Berlin is a sought-after performer in clubs and festivals, well known for blending hypnotic rhythms with pulsating basslines. Our podcast #5 is a live recording cut from his set for Locked Groove / Brooklyn.

Right from the start, it feels like you're on a trip. Deep vocals and groovy parts adorn the set. The body has to start moving immediately. Some classy techno tracks alternate with lesser-known gems. It's the ups and downs of the energies that make listening fun. In the middle part, the whole thing is briefly broken up with more breakbeat sounds before the set picks up pace again towards the end. 

Great techno for eternity!

Decoder for DifferentSound Podcast #261.

Decoder is a Dallas based music producer and DJ specializing in the realm of sci-fi & deep techno. His music is often filled with ambitious soundscapes, rolling sequences, and off kilter sound design.

Early in March 2021, Decoder saw his first release "The  Futurist" come to life on the Italian label "Antiterra". Following the EP came a consistent schedule of releases, including releases on labels such as Bomphcast, Srie Records, and his own imprint Codec Recordings. The year also saw the release of his first album, "Monolithic Activity Spectrum" on the Spanish label "Subsist". Decoder ended the year with his second album release "Dark Shape", which was put out on Jeff Mills' legendary imprint "Axis".

The first half of 2022 showed no signs of slowing down, as Decoder's "Moro Safa EP" was released on Amsterdam based label "Float Records". It also saw the third full length album titled "Plurality Module" released on Subsist. The  latter half of the year saw his first 12" vinyl release  "Singularity 2" released  on Dallas native label "Science Cult", as well as his follow up release on Float Records titled "Kanavugal".

These releases have also garnered Decoder support from many artists including the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, TWR72, Yanamaste, to name a few. 

Decoder's touring schedule has also seen notable moments, including shows played for Infra (Boston), BCCO (Berlin), Cialo (Poland), Neighbourhood (London), among others.

Border One has been known for his releases since 2015, but was a DJ first, playing music beyond the scope of house and techno. He started playing in Ghent, and later on moved to Brussels where he resides today. For his productions, he relies on modular synthesis, giving him the full range possibilities for his passion for sound exploration. His distinctive sound can be heard on his releases on for example Token, SK11 or his own imprint Border One.

This hour-long mix consists of deep rolling tracks and some hypnotic grooves, made to make you move.

Kwartz

Originally from Madrid, Kwartz has now made Berlin his creative hub.
Kwartz first caught the attention of global tastemakers with a series of electrifying EPs, setting him on a trajectory to join the esteemed PoleGroup in 2013, helmed by the iconic Oscar Mulero, where he began to release his works regularly.
Beyond his works on PoleGroup, Kwartz's music has left an indelible mark on prominent international labels, including SK_Eleven, 47, Mord Records, Semantica, Horo, and Warm Up Recordings, to name just a few. In 2016, he embarked on a new journey, launching his own label, Order&Devotion, where he explores dark atmospheres and visceral sounds, all seamlessly interwoven with rhythms designed for the dance floor. In 2021 he started a parallel project with Kaiser called Force Reaction, a project oriented towards a more classic side of techno. Kwartz's sets are more than just music; they are captivating stories told through sound.
Through a thrilling blend of raw, mental, and driving elements, he keeps dance floors in a constant state of tension.
