Following our recent news article on Kokong Festival, today we turn our attention to the festival’s inaugural sampler - a curated glimpse into the artists set to perform this weekend inside the iconic geodesic dome at Pub Stallhagen on Åland.

Spanning four tracks, the compilation brings together leading voices from the Nordic electronic music scene: FISK, the analog techno alias of Finnish producer and Elektron product specialist Daniel Troberg; the exploratory textures of Andreas Tilliander and jazz trumpeter Goran Kajfeš; the murky Baltic atmospheres of Havsmörker; and the pulsating club energy of Norwegian techno veteran Mental Overdrive.

Our pick from the sampler is the opening track 'Ilväder' by Scandinavian duo @havsmoorker. Comprising Anton Johansson and Axel Jonsson, the pair fuse field recordings, analogue synthesis, and traditional acoustic instrumentation into immersive folktronica and ambient works. Their sound conjures a sense of sensory navigation - foggy, spatial, and deeply intuitive.

Steeped in atmosphere, Ilväder is both murky and crystalline - a meditative piece that weaves mystical synth lines with effervescent percussion, blending natural elements like flute with earthy, ancient textures. The result is an experimental, downbeat track that gently leans toward the techno spectrum, while remaining rooted in introspection and place.

Trippy bleep bloops, mystic atmospheres and deep bass - these elements connect the tracks on this compilation. Produced between 2023 and 2025 in my Berlin studio, they have been waiting in the archive for the right moment to come alive.

Each track is a snapshot of a different state of mind: raw Detroit-influenced electro, heavy-bass minimalism touched by UK sound system culture, and moments of bright synthetic clarity shaped by the Berlin state of mind. Together they form an eclectic time capsule - fragments pulled from restless nights, experiments, unfinished sketches and fully-realiSed cuts.

‘From The Archives’ is not a concept album, but rather a collection of sonic fragments: a diary written in voltage, rhythm and pulse. It blends Detroit grit, Berlin precision and UK adventurousness into a release that looks both backward and forward - sounds once stored away, now finally set free.
