As we enter the last quarter of 2013, we bring you the 5th issue from Dexta's Lab mix-tape series.

" Here's the penultimate instalment of my mix-tape series for the year, it's gone too quick, loads have happened over the past 9 months and the future is set to be nothing buy busier. One of my turntables decided to pack in a few weeks back but luckily I've fixed it in time for the mix-tape. I've recorded a couple of guest-mixes, and interviews which are pending, so keep your eyes peeled for them. You can catch me on the forthcoming Freedom35 Podcast which is being recorded in a matter of days, and also I'm planning something funny for the "unlucky for some" GiraffeCast 13 with some of the moo crew as per! I've got a few gigs coming up over the next month or so, but get in touch with Lucie @ Empress if you want me to come play at your party, I've got a lot of really interesting music and look forward to sharing it with you all! 

PS. you may have seen/heard that Mauoq, the Kolectiv lads and I have had an EP signed to Dispatch Ltd which is coming early next year, cannot wait to show off them flavours! Until next time! Stay safe! "

Following the 'Evolution Of The Giraffe LP', Diffrent Music shows early signs of evolution. The first release of 2014, a 'Fusion Single' format release where Dexta & Hyroglifics come together, each with a solo offering and a joint effort for the title track. 'Boxgroove' is a punchy, half-time dance-floor designed GiraffeStep mover, featuring loads of nosies from the Roland MC303 Groovebox, and slow/fast drum patterns that make that neck crack. 'Move Over' is Hyroglifics entry to the Pink Giraffe label, a Hip-Hop swag style anthem that brings out the meatiest bass face you've ever performed. 'The Dogz' titled as it was initially made just for people that look like dogs, is Dexta's first ever solo effort, and keeps it rolling all the way through for a slice of his take on 'giraffe-jungle'.

UM019 is a single by Metalheadz, Dispatch and Critical artist Hydro, alongside some esteemed friends.  Label boss Mako and Hydro since meeting in Paris a few years ago, have remained close and enjoy a shared mutual respect.  Utopia are very happy to introduce him to our roster.  

For side A Hydro teams up with stadium dubstep producer Habstrakt, and fellow french talents War and Mateba.  The result is a fine example of how to create movement in the art of groove and atmosphere.

The Russian returns to close down 2015 in style as he delivers the first single to be taken from his forthcoming sophomore LP, ‘Rituals’, due out on Critical early in December. Keeping us guessing, Enei throws a curveball with the dulcet tones of Charli Brix rolling over lead track ‘Just One Look’ whilst ‘Bad Proof’ takes us firmly into the warped sci-fi arena, perfect for smashing the most ardent of dance floors. Enei - Bad Proof

For the eleventh installment in the Blendits Audio series, frequent collaborators ''@Mindmapper'' & ''@Silvahfonk'' are returning to the Rotterdam based imprint with their strapping ''Absolution EP''. 

On the B side, the almost herculean sounding drum patterns are continued on ''Raised''. The ominous pads guide the track into a thriving minute of disarray before turning to a doomy fashion with fierce growls and plenty of drum pattern switches. A bonus track called ''Compromised'' is included in the digital release (the breakdown is bad!). 

The EP is set to be released near the end of November on  12'' vinyl + download card. Hope you like the sounds!

Kamikaze Space Programme branches in to bold new directions and pushes the precision production to a new level with the four contrasting tracks featured on this release.

Opening with the ever developing bio mechanic sounds of Yuri Gagarin; nauseating electronic pulses come alive and crawl over tough techno rhythms, rising to outer atmospheric heights of tension yet expertly held in check.
 
The title track identifies a deeper more thoughtful perspective of this producers work; vast clouds of rich harmonic tones glide over deep sub bass and in between the distant yet ever present beat.

The familiar KSP dancefloor energy returns for the second half of the EP: The stomping bass drum of Tuli secures the foundation for sharp acid synths and effects that scramble in and out of focus, each bar punctuated by power-driven stabs. Closing with the glitchy industrial rhythms of Shatter; a potent darkness is at the core of this monster track, brought to life by sinister chords and explosive impacts.

Another substantial release from Kamikaze Space Programme on DecaRhythm; full of the exploration and creativity we’ve come to expect from this artist.
