Low_End Cast 004 w/ AEON FLUX

On Low_End Cast 04, one of Leipzig's best underground musicians and one of the generals of Defrostatica Records, Aeon Flux, takes the helm. 

Aeon Flux fell deeply in love with breakbeats in the early 90s. A love that started with UK hardcore and jungle, grew with drum and bass, never stopped exploring boundaries and currently finds its fulfillment in very bass-heavy music like footwork, juke and ghetto house.

She was a member of the infamous position:underground crew, ran a few music-related online forums along the way, hosted a few radio shows, threw a bunch of parties and has currently settled down as part of the team that runs Defrostatica Records. 

Enjoy this mix which features Jungle, Footwork, Juke and Ghetto House at its best (including some previously unreleased cuts).

The next Krachtvoer EP comes from Greece by way of Unified Method. His ‘Kenopsia EP’ is very experimental which gives it a lot of depth while still being club friendly with 2+2=5, ANDROM and Kracht remixes.

The EP starts off with ‘A is for Absence’, combining a hard synth lead with atmospheric sounds and a half timed bass drum. Keeping things interesting from the first to last second. 2+2=5 lending his gritty industrial sound to the remix, perfect for opening your next club show with.

Unified Method’s second original track on the EP, ‘Endless Nights of Wonder’, takes thing into the broken beat side of things. Still remaining atmospheric but working up to a trance synth lead in the second half. On remix duties for this track is ANDROM, delivering a banging four by four remix that shakes the foundations.

The last track on the EP is Chemica, a mesmerizing four by four track. Kracht’s remix takes the original to a darker place, lacing it with stabs befitting any dancefloor post-corona.

Defiance is a collection of tracks constructed while experimentation was underway in the ASC studio between 170BPM Techno and the creation of the Grey Area sound. Upon revision, the vitality and strength of these tunes as a collection became apparent. Leaving these unreleased would be a travesty in our mission to be part of documenting the evolution of the voluminous ASC production legacy. While heavy on effective floor tunes that ASC utilised in his last tour of Europe, Defiance is given an ethereal LP narrative with tunes like opener Exulansis, Tensile, and Sarif. Defiance helps to complete the story of the development of the ASC sound as we know it today.
