BRETT is a new label celebrating the co-dependent scenes of techno and contemporary art. 

A sub label of Inland’s Counterchange imprint, each edition will feature music selected by Ed Davenport (Inland / Counterchange), paired with cover art curated by Nils Petersen (Flipping The Coin). 

BRETT is dedicated to the spirit of Berlin’s early club scene, where cross-pollination and spirited discourse between musicians and visual artists etched the blueprints for a new techno-culture.

001 finds co-creator and long-time Berlin ex-pat Inland at the helm, delivering four surging, up-tempo club tools, plus 2 brainwave-activating noise experiments. Celebrated Irish-born artist Mariechen Danz provides a photograph of her visionary sculpture, ‘Statue for Gesticulation’, for the cover artwork. 

The towering super-human structure bears a multitude of nurturing hand gestures suggesting support, comfort and togetherness. Built from roughly textured grey concrete and resembling a technoid, monolithic bunker or industrial space in itself, the loving, humanist symbols of peaceful action mirror the culture of inclusion, love and acceptance practiced on the dance floor.

For this 11th release, we are very glad to welcome back Mersel with this new EP called 'Intermodulation'. This second release from Mersel in our catalog, reveal different sides of the French artist with a stunning 4-track EP, evolving between deep and hypnotic techno. Tsott – is a deep and hypnotic techno producer/DJ hailing from Georgia, who took over the duty to record our next chapter, NFR027. Drawing on influences from Italian and Spanish techno scenes Tsott has developed his sound that is both hypnotic and entrancing and NFR027 full of atmospheric soundscape explorations with driving rhythms perfectly reflects this approach.

From artist’s words: “Tracks were designed to evoke a sense of deep introspection, creating a space for listeners to dive deep into their subconsciousness and discover the hidden aspect of their being. It is a testament to the power of music to transport listeners to otherworldly realm and inspire to embrace the mysteries that lie within. Mary Yuzovskaya's vinyl-only, Berlin-via-Brooklyn Monday Off label continues to explore techno's shadowy depths; where the music's subtle dynamics unfurl in intensely cerebral and psychedelic ways. The rising Roman producer Hoedus, who's previously contributed to one of the Various Artist compilations, offers three exquisite new tracks on this latest edition to MOFF's catalogue.

The propulsion of opening track Frames rolls in like a summer's evening thunderstorm; fresh and unrelenting as its elements swirl around the listener, while ever-crescendoing in subdued intensity. Moving Up Slowly follows suit, but unlike its namesake, it dives straight into peak time energy with ravey drones that slowly evolve into an array of tripping tones that tunnel straight into the brain. 
The following side begins with MOFF fave Spanish artist Orbe remixing Moving Up Slowly; its energy further increased tenfold as otherworldly sounds dance around the main motif with frenetic intensity. Gravity Zero closes out the EP by simmering away with body-centric rhythms and a heady afterglow that's reminiscent of an extended sunrise moment.
