Philippe Petit is originally from Brussels, Belgium, where he started DJing in the early nineties. After spending 15 years in London, he moved to Chamonix, France, in 2010 where he started two vinyl labels: Knotweed Records and Decision Making Theory (DMT). He has a string of techno releases on his own labels, as well as on Pole Group, Figure SPC, EartoGround etc.

He has played at Tresor, Suicide Circus, La Graviere, Batofar, Weetamix, Corsica Studios, and Berghain to name a few.

A Stockholm based artist, Zement Berlin resident and member of Violazioni Sonore agency, Alnö is exploring the deep, hypnotic and atmospheric sounds of techno, inspired by the environment and the sound of nature, Alnö is also the name of her place of birth, a Nordic island of strong elements, powerful surroundings and northern melancholy.

It is our pleasure to present this week's Global Vibe Radio mix, featuring Italian DJ/producer and label boss Ness.

Ness is a DJ and producer born and raised in Sardinia, acknowledged for his signature style, with a background spanning over a decade of music production, sound engineering and many years of research and fine-tuning. Through his growth as an artist, Ness has gradually developed a distinct technique with a strong focus on atmosphere combined with hypnotic rhythms. 

Having performed in some of the most relevant clubs and festivals around the globe, he steadily releases music and collaborates with several renowned techno labels within the scene. With experience as label manager through the years with partnership on Mono Records and The Gods Planet, in 2018 he established his spin-off project label called Ness Reworks. 

Ness' music and DJ sets are respected throughout the world of underground techno, widely defined as a top-tier exploration of wide range of deep hypnotic techno and ambient soundscapes.

Time has come for the last podcast of 2020 which comes from one of the hottest names in the Romanian scene: Vlad Arapasu. With many releases on top-notch labels such as Priku's Atipic, Subtil, Serialism, EASTENDERZ, and Unic to name a few, the Bucharest talent worked his way up by providing a peculiar melodic-oriented style, always sustained by unwavering trust in gloomy sub-basslines, intricated grooves, and twisted synths. A trademark sound that he's been able to convey into his label KONTENT, which hosted young promises of the rominimal panorama such as Macarie and Leanca, proving Vlad's ability to give the right exposure to other fellow-talented producers. We feel absolutely blessed to welcome Adelia on Cellar Door. The Prague born and Barcelona based  DJ started her career with a heavier and darker techno sounds, however she quickly gravitated towards the deep and hypnotic sphere.

Techno hit Japan hard in the early 1990s. Surprised, Takaaki Itoh was quickly impressed and intrigued with this new sound. The unique style of beats revealed the gateway to a new world of underground music in Japan – something he had never heard before. Surprise slowly gave way to addiction when Takaaki Itoh was exposed to the sounds of such artists and labels as Underground Resistance, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Hardfloor, Sven V?, Harthouse, Warp and Rising High. This was his sound, and deciding he just couldn’t get enough of it, in 1994 Takaaki began to organize his own techno parties in his home of northern Japan. By providing a fantastic lineup, his parties quickly became a success.

Up next with an idiosyncratically hypnotic, massive-as-usual delivery is Token mainstay and Copenhagen-based floor destroyer Ctrls. Initially schooled to the feverish sound of rattling jungle drums and amen breaks under the Pyro alias, Troels Baunbæk-Knudsen has vamped up his sound from stem to stern, laying the foundation to a techno body of work both inherently raw and inch-perfectly executed. A true surgeon of the groove, the Danish producer boasts his clinical skills and mind-bending mixing hoodoo in compelling style throughout. Get in the loop!
