Bio - Born in Suburban Chicagoland and raised in Northwest Wisconsin, Steve Seuling (a.k.a. Centrific) anchored himself in Minneapolis since 1993. In a mostly-hidden, yet vibrantly evolving underground scene, Seuling started attending, curating, and DJing events in the mid-1990s. Underscoring his commitment for the Twin Cities’ massive bass bins, Seuling then in March of 1998 founded “Intellephunk”, his brand of parties that began at the now-shuttered Rockler Fur Building, drawing inspiration from those of his contemporaries (Woody McBride’s “Electric Disko”, Drop Bass Network’s Even Furthur). Centrific throws a weekly summer party called “Communion”, founded in 2007 alongside fellow Midwest native Dustin Zahn. Communion is an inclusive open-air day party, focusing on the psychedelic side of house and techno. Most recently, Centrific created an online Twitch stream entitled “Distant Future”, a platform where he invites local and international DJs to showcase their music and chat about their ideas for the future of the rave scene.  His dedication to preserving and protecting the local roots of the dance music community shows that, in many ways, he’s the lifeblood of Midwest techno.

Steve’s contributions and continued loyalty to Minneapolis is immense and self-evident. He embodies a fatherly role in both his day-to-day life and artistic practice. Seuling is grounded and approachable; a speaker-freaker with a wry sense of humor and an openness to connect with new and old friends. His DJ style explores a direct lineage to pummeling, aggressive Midwest techno and house, mixing with pointillist sonic precision that permeates his approach to his musical eclecticism. Centrific veers away from musical boundaries and expectations, while pushing further and further into that psychedelic headspace one can only call “the groove”.

In the second hour we have a special live DJ set by Toru Ikemoto from Toyko Japan. Toru has had multiple techno releases on labels such as NECHTO, Cocoon Recordings, Plus Records and Suara. He graces us this month will an exclusive mix comprised of all his own productions, 18 tracks in total!

Akua is a Ghanaian-American DJ with roots in North American techno but exemplifies a sonic force that reverberates worldwide. A powerful fixture in the NYC scene for the past six years, she's cemented herself as one of the most distinctive techno DJs coming out of the U.S. in recent years. She has been at the forefront of a new generation of techno artists who find inspiration in the raw, innovative and rebellious spirit of old school techno. Her practice is a passionate dedication to archiving & activating timeless strains of raw and mechanized expression - fusing the new school of North American machine funk while harkening back to the innovation of Detroit, Chicago, & New York City DJs throughout history. A recent move to Berlin, a city that has held a crucial role in the evolution of techno, has provided her with the opportunity to further develop her craft by embracing the transcontinental connection that originally ignited the techno movement.  

All this plays out in Akua's blazing sets heard around the world - from exerting her renowned vigor behind the decks at hometown haunts like Basement and Public Records to unleashing landmark sets at Dekmantel, Draaimolen, & Berghain. Already seasoned on the European tour circuit, she continues to garner respect and delight from the most discerning of DJs & dancers alike through her fierce mixing finesse and constantly expanding repertoire of futureproof classics.

This is one of my most-requested live recordings in a while! For 4 days at Fusion, ~80,000 people grow a tail and run free in the German forest. It’s what happens when uncompromising art collides with anti-capitalistic freedom. I was invited to play on Saturday night from 2:30am-4:30am on Fusions biggest stage, Turmbühne. Soundtracked by heavy, intense psychedelia, this is a story of moving everybody from the darkest hour straight into sunrise. I wanted to push people’s limits, but I also wanted it to be fun. Thank you to those still standing and especially to the Fusion crew.

@philippapacho is like a musical Swiss knife: she has exactly the right tool for every occasion, from warm-ups to peak time to wonky afters. It was a long residency at Under Bron in her native Stockholm that equipped her with those skills, and since moving to Berlin, she's gone on to make her mark across Europe playing all forms of techno. Melodic Hard Techno is where I feel truly at home. I’ve been passionate about DJing since my teenage years — first controllers, first sets, countless hours of self-taught practice. In 2023, I made my debut on the Wrocław club scene, performing at venues such as Ciało, Transformator, and Schron. Music is my escape from everyday life. Next episode of our podcast series is currated by Hydrangea. She got our attention since her very beginings just few years ago. The music she creates doesn't rush on tempo, so she can carefully make a tour in between the flowing soundscapes and dreamy pads. Since her birth she always was tightly connected with nature, which is her inexhaustible source of inspiration. Even though it is not a long while since the day she started to put out material, she gained respect of numerous members of the ongoing scene of deep techno and relased music on labels such as Silent Season, Annulled or the most recent Natch Elements.
Roots of our friendship are bringing us back to the year 2017, when she performed together with Milena Kriegs (Milena Glowacka) and Inner Shapes on party organized by our collective.
