Having a deep passion for intertwining Occult Wisdom into his music, SOLëM looks to create powerful tools for the dance floor with the intention go deep within and embrace our shadow, as darkness is one with the light, "Everything is dual and has its poles : Opposites are identical in nature, but different in Degree".

SOLëM's sound can best be described as a Rumbling mass of sound, Evolving through a thick fog that rests over the fringes of what is perceived as techno.

With a major focus on Drones and Atmospheres that weave through each other as eerie textures convolute their way through the thick fog that eventually engulfs them. He seeks to convey the Depth of his emotional state through intelligent and unique sound design, always looking to create music that is timeless rather than trendy

6AM Guest Mix: SOLëM

Mic Meimaroglou's passion for electronic music began at a young age, sparked by his fascination with the synthesizer's analog sound. As he delved deeper into the art of music production, he discovered that synthesizing and mixing sounds provided him with a creative outlet for self-expression.

As a resident DJ in small bars, Michael's experimentation with various music genres expanded his knowledge and technique in mixing. In 2010, he released his first music demo under the alias "Aithale," which showcased his unique blend of electronica and techno elements.

In 2013 and 2014, Michael curated the electronic music program for the "Beach Street Festival," featuring both Greek and international artists. These experiences culminated in a milestone year for Michael in 2014, as he released his first music on 808 Recordings, Ntrop Recordings, and joined the music roster of Affect Recordings Munich. He also released on DMR Digital Italy.

In 2017, Michael launched USM Recordings with the goal of supporting the Greek contemporary electronic music scene. His music releases have been featured on various Greek and international media platforms, including BeatSelector, 5 Magazine, Electronic Groove, The Letter, mic.gr, and beater.gr.

In 2023, Michael co-founded ΣΥΝTHESIS, an electronic music artist collective platform based in Lesvos island, to inspire and expand electronic music around the island and beyond through events, workshops, conferences and screenings.

Michael's DJ performances are characterized by ambient and hypnotic techno patterns, with the flow of his sets influenced strongly by the crowd's mood and the sound elements that he follows.

La Pocilga fue, desde el inicio hasta el final, una montaña rusa de emociones y, a la vez, un reto para mí. Teniendo un estilo tan agresivo como sofocante, no sabía cómo iba a ser recibido por el público de Sevilla, pero sin duda alguna superó mis expectativas.

Desde antes de llegar a la sala, se respiraba un aire de comunidad realmente acogedor. Desde el primer minuto, la pista se llenó de gente de mente abierta dispuesta a disfrutar de la música. Me sentí tan cómodo que intenté buscar los límites del público poniendo temas más experimentales y de ritmos rotos, pero la acogida fue igual de buena.

Ver la sala llena de cuerpos bailando, sin ningún móvil a la vista, una primera fila de incondicionales que bailaron durante 3 horas sin parar, todo tipo de gente unida con un mismo propósito: el de pasar una gran noche.

En definitiva, una noche para el recuerdo.

Number 195 of our series is brought to you by the Hungarian-rooted, Dortmund-based DJ and producer Robin Tasi. Known for his genre-bending track selection and fast-paced transitions, Robin’s sets are all about navigating between raw human emotions and pure dancefloor energy.

His productions draw inspiration from the past thirty years of electronic music, breaking boundaries while staying true to the essence of the sound. With releases on labels worldwide and self-released projects, he continues to carve his own path. In 2021, Junkyard Dortmund recognized his talent, making him a club resident—further cementing his presence in the scene.

Van Der é o nome artístico de Vanderley Neves. Natural de São Tomé e Príncipe mas português de gema, este rapaz de 28 anos é um exemplo. Cresceu em bairros de lata, onde habitavam comunidades africanas que viram muitos emigrar para procurar melhores condições de vida. Apesar das adversidades, nunca abandonou a escola, e, aos 18 anos, decidiu ingressar em Sociologia, uma experiência que marcou e influenciou os seus caminhos.

Desde sempre, Van Der esteve em contacto com sonoridades africanas: “estava constantemente exposto à música africana, inclusivamente eletrónica, como por exemplo o kuduro, cujos fundadores são o Tony Amado e o Sebem. Estes dois padrinhos do kuduro inspiraram-se em ‘raves’ no ocidente, e tentaram recriar o mesmo som em Angola”.

No entanto, o “bicho” despertou graças ao seu primo, o atual DJ Marfox, que, ao gravar-lhe cds, incluiu três mixes de Carl Cox. Depois, por volta de 2007, quando começou a ouvir a rádio Mix.Fm, apaixonou-se definitivamente pela música eletrónica. Gostava mas ainda não a sabia definir, até que, graças a um amigo, conheceu a música de Sven Väth. Aí, Van Der entendeu o techno. Através deste estilo foi conhecendo outros artistas que o ajudaram a crescer enquanto dj, mas isto não quer dizer que continuem a ter influência direta na sua música.

"Atualmente tenho muitas referências, e quanto mais descubro, mais tenho. Existem muitos projetos de qualidade que têm explorado a música eletrónica e o techno em particular, elevando-o para novas formas de interpretar o género. O techno é futurista."

Quando falámos sobre ídolos com quem gostaria de partilhar a cabine, Van Der fala de nomes como Stanislav Tolkachev, Surgeon, Adam X, entre outros, pois afirma que têm contribuído de forma muito positiva para a cena musical através dos seus selos.

Relativamente à música eletrónica em Portugal, Van Der acredita que existe muito consumo mas pouca produção, e que, pelo menos em Lisboa, há poucas alternativas devido às dificuldades impostas: “É necessário maior apoio à cultura [em Portugal]. Os projetos têm dificuldade em se estabelecer porque existem vários constrangimentos e burocracias. Existem muitos de qualidade que têm tentado desenvolver o seu trabalho”.

No que toca a projetos, Van Der é o seu principal, totalmente dedicado a um lado mais underground. Mas Vanderley é também um dos fundadores do Escuro, um coletivo de música eletrónica que pretende também trazer algo de novo à noite lisboeta menos mainstream. No futuro, pretende consolidar-se enquanto artista e editar música. Pelo meio, não garante que se vá manter por Portugal.

Relativamente ao set que preparou para este episódio de N’A Cabine, Van Der mantém-se fiel a si próprio, afastado daquilo que se ouve na maioria das festas de techno. Como artista gosta de explorar várias dimensões da música eletrónica experimental, e remata que aprecia “a liberdade de explorar a minha criatividade, de acordo com o que interpreto da ocasião para que vou mixar. Este set, penso que estará mais virado para o clubbing“.
